Congratulations, Logan! Well deserved!

Last week, seniors celebrated a year of collaboration with our College Counselor, Logan! Logan will be leaving MEHS this year due to a promotion - he's now an Assistant Director of College Counseling for Schuler's City Region. Congrats Logan, and great work seniors!

Today we honor Native American Heritage Day, a time to reflect on the rich heritage, diverse cultures, and significant contributions of Native Americans to the United States. Observed on the day after Thanksgiving, this day is about more than acknowledging the past; it recognizes the ongoing contributions and resilience of Native American communities. Their traditions, languages, and teachings continue to enrich our national fabric. We use this day for education, acknowledgment, and respect, ensuring the stories and voices of these indigenous nations are heard and valued. Let's use today to educate ourselves and others, engage with Native American culture, and commit to supporting their communities.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

It always helps to have a Schuler alum to offer insight when looking at colleges!

Stephanie Diaz met up with HP Scholar alum Sarah García while visiting Boston University this long weekend!

¡Stephanie Diaz se encontró con Sarah García de la clase de 2020 durante su visita a este fin de semana largo!

Today, we come together to pay tribute to those who have selflessly dedicated their lives to serving our nation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering commitment and sacrifice. Thank you for your exceptional service.

Today we celebrate National First Generation College Student Day on November 8, a day dedicated to honoring the resilience and determination of students who are paving the way for their families. In 2017, the Council for Opportunity in Education launched this initiative, urging educational institutions to come together and recognize the achievements of first-generation college students. By amplifying their stories and highlighting their strengths, we strive to create a national dialogue that empowers and supports these individuals, who represent a significant portion of today's college population and our own Schuler Scholars.

So much activity at all of our schools as our seniors apply to colleges to meet early application deadlines. Applying early increases Scholars’ chances at getting into the school they want and receiving the financial aid they need.

Good luck, Seniors!

It’s college application season and seniors are working on their applications and checking out schools. One of the best things about the colleges that we work with is some have fly out programs for seniors to do. They get to go to the campus and check it out before making a decision.

Today, on Indigenous People's Day, we reflect on the rich heritage, dynamic present, and hopeful future of Native peoples across the US. We recognize the devastating impact of colonialism on Indigenous communities and celebrate their enduring cultures, innovations, and courage. As part of the Schuler Scholar Program, we pay tribute to the Indigenous people who have long lived on the land we now inhabit and honor the ongoing contributions of our Indigenous colleagues and friends.

School is in full swing. Take a look at some of the fun things one of our school teams and Scholars did.

Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is a solemn day of reflection, fasting, and repentance in the Jewish faith. Those who mark it engage in deep reflection and to seek forgiveness, both from others and from ourselves. This day focuses on self-improvement, empathy, and reconciliation. Schuler wishes all who are observing this day, a meaningful Yom Kippur filled with introspection and the pursuit of a better, more harmonious future.

Schuler joins in the celebration of Rosh Hashanah by delving into its rich traditions. Rosh Hashanah marks the beginning of the High Holy Days, a time for reflection, repentance, and renewal. Families come together to dip apples in honey, symbolizing a sweet and prosperous year ahead. This holiday celebrates the importance of knowledge, growth, and unity. To our Jewish scholars, families, and larger community, we wish you a happy new year.

As we celebrate National Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, let's take a moment to reflect on the rich histories, diverse cultures, and countless contributions of Hispanic/Latinx champions. From civil rights activists to artists, entrepreneurs to educators, this community has made an indelible mark on our world. Let's use this month as an opportunity to learn from their experiences, uplift their voices, and show our support for their ongoing struggles and achievements. If you're interested in learning more, check out this learning guide for some great resources to get started.

We will never forget.
