Congratulations to our own Mr. Cory. You have been a valuable member of the Liberty Family for the last four years, and to say you left your mark is an understatement. You did whatever it took to help support the students, staff, and families of Liberty Middle School. Through the tough times, you helped us be better together. When you leave you, you will be a legend, and now you’ve officially leveled up.

Michael Cory Named Principal of Lincoln Middle School Michael Cory will assume the role of principal for Lincoln Middle School on July 1, 2024.

Mrs. Heepke has been a long term sub this year at Liberty, and today we wish her farewell. She has been an awesome addition to our Liberty family, and we are sad to see her go. Thank you for stepping up for our kiddos, and hopefully we’ll cross paths again.


Take the Polar Plunge!! All students are invited to collect donations for the Special Olympics!

The following rewards will be issued for our top earners:

Top Earner for Liberty: Will be to "Polar Plunge" the administrator of their choice!!

Top Earner for EACH House: Will be able to "Polar Plunge" the Adult House Member!!

Any Student who raises $100 or more: Will be able to "Polar Plunge" themselves!!

All Polar Plunges will take place during an all-school assembly! Make sure to "Join Your Team." (scan the barcode for additional directions)


Act I is presenting Bye Bye Birdie – Youth Edition. The performances will take place in the Liberty Auditorium on February 22nd and 23rd at 6:30 pm and on February 24 at 2:00 pm. Ticket sales will begin on February 12th at 9:00am. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at . Tickets WILL NOT be available at the door. Fan grams will be available for purchase for $2.

Over the first two weekends of February, several Liberty band students were nominated for and selected to participate in the Madison County Band Director's Association annual jazz and concert band festivals. Ben Tingley played in the lab band at the jazz festival, and Henry Samet, Emma Ritter, Sydney Shrewsberry, Willa Helmers, Owen Miller, Logan Batson, Reid Batson, Sophia Kowalenko, Grant Johnson, Aspen Gregory, Ethan Doll, Lyla Hahn, Matthew Frank, and Brady Bannister participated in the concert bands. Way to go, Panthers!

Amistad and Altruismo Houses did a wonderful job of spreading love on this Valentines Day. The House of Friendship left hearts around the building expressing their gratitude for staff. The House of Givers made Valentines Day gift bags for all of the students at Goshen Elementary.

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming Liberty Middle School Book Fair from February 26th to March 1st. This special event is an exciting opportunity for our students to explore the wonderful world of books and ignite their passion for reading. Huge shoutout to our January staff of the month. Mr. Chapman has held it down for Team 83 all year and if you’ve ever been in our building, you know we have two of the best custodians in the District. Mr. Leonard and Mr. John are two of the best, and we wouldn’t be able to do the things we do without them.
