Once the students have identified the negative emotions, ask them to write down an answer for the following Qs:
1. Is there another way to see these emotions?
2. What kind of information are they providing me?
3. How can I change my relationship to these emotions from wanting to rid myself of them to accepting them?
4. And if these emotions are not serving me well, what will I need to manage these emotions more effectively?
May the wisdom of emotion be with your students :D
Start your day with a ritual. Such as:
- Smile warmly & greet each student by their preferred name
- Whole-group greeting activities
- Morning circles
- Interactive “do-nows,” such as peer-to-peer homework help

Parents can still continue to foster social emotional learning and life skill building in their children while they are at home during the holidays.
🎯 Simple example to teach children about empathy during the holidays: Indulge them in delivering Christmas gifts to foster children. the feeling of doing something good for someone, bringing a smile on someone's face, and celebrating Christmas together will teach them a lot about Empathy.
Holiday season is an exciting way to teach them a little about being grateful for what they have.
Get them to do this simple exercise: Have your students write their own personal greeting cards to their loved ones. Give them a prompt to work with. Have them recall a fond memory and why they are so grateful to have that relative or close friend in their lives.
Teamwork and cooperation skills are essential skills all-year-long, and are used in nearly every activity in school and in life. That is exactly why daily integration of SEL is a MUST in schools.
This video is a very good classroom resource for your students, its fun, engaging and leaves a message for students. What do you think?

Here's how you can prepare for effective SEL Implementation in your school
1. Allot the time required to implement the program sufficiently and effectively.
2. Extend SEL beyond the classroom.
3. Apply SEL strategies and skills in real-time.
4. Ensure sufficient staff support and training.
5. Facilitate program ownership and buy-in.
6. Use data to inform decision-making.
Simply put, children who have experienced a number of ACEs seem to be at a higher risk of developing mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety and substance abuse in the future.
These problems may result in difficulties in regulating emotions, making decisions, and managing stress.
Why are we telling this to you? Because you're an educator, a counselor, a principal, and you're well aware how SEL can be a solution to these issues at a young age.
