Voyager music teachers work as music specialists at Camp Settoga. For two weeks last summer, we taught students how to write songs. Our topic? Candy of course!

Working on bowing technique is always more fun with props!

We're so excited about our annual recital on Sunday, June 4th. Here is a photo of 2 students and President of Voyager Jessica Ginsberg from last year's recital.

We always have a great time with our partners at the mm_JCCManhattan! Here's a nice memory of a music story-time event we hosted in the JCC lobby.

Now that's one happy student!

Olivia teaches voice, piano, and ukulele at Voyager. Originally from Wethersfield, CT she has been singing & performing for as long as she can remember and started piano training at age 4!

Oliva has sung at venues around the city including The Apollo and Birdland Jazz Club. She has years of experience singing in choirs, and a- ca****la groups. She is also a self-taught beatboxer! As an actor, Olivia has performed at professional regional houses all around the northeast – some of her favorites include Goodspeed Opera House & Finger Lakes Musical Theater.

Olivia holds a BFA in Musical Theater from The Hartt School of Music. She loves all genres of music, but jazz and funk excite her the most. She is passionate about helping students find their inner voice and encourages creativity, imagination, and expression through music.

We believe that using method books is vital to our student's learning process. instructors often teach with multiple book series so that students can be exposed to the same concept in different ways

We are excited to be hosting a make-your-own instrument table at the Manhattan New School's Rock the Block Spring Fair on Saturday, April 29th! Here are some pictures of us in action at the event last year!

Our instructors take time and care to mark up each student's music in a way that allows them to understand the material so they can practice on their own.

Mercedes teaches voice and piano at Voyager! She started her studies at a very early age with classical piano. As her musical development intensified, she fell in love
with singing.

Mercedes attended the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts and then later went on to pursue a Bachelor of Music in Electronic Production and Contemporary Writing at Berklee College of Music.

Mercedes loves to perform in a variety of musical styles including Salsa, Pop/R&B, Rock, and Soul. She’s thrilled to be a part of the Voyager team, and can’t wait to bring music into your home!

Happy Halloween!

Amanda and Sofia love playing duets!

Justin is a New York-based Saxophone player, ever learning and performing for 20 years. Like many musically inclined youngsters, he began in school bands as early as possible and played through these programs throughout his formal education; along the way seeking private instruction, and spreading his scope from classical wind ensembles to jazz, and marching bands. Justin began writing and forming his own projects from the age of 15. He has performed in NYC, Westchester, and Hudson Valley venues such as The Knitting Factory, The Hook, Tarrytown Music Hall, and The Chance, alongside professional acts ranging from the Newburgh Symphony, and the West Point Jazz Nights, to Graham Parker, Mountain, and the Toasters. He believes in a diverse approach to music education. Finding one’s strengths and interests is the key to finding one’s musical voice. First, however, must come the foundations. Justin remains forever grateful to his instructors for teaching him the value of learning and practicing scales and breathing patterns, as he could never have built his musical life without these and other building blocks. He couldn’t be more excited to be joining the Voyager Music team, and is looking forward to passing along his knowledge and love of music to future pros!
