Welcome to Gold Star Tutoring of Westchester, offering specialized instruction in Reading and Written Expression to students in grades K-5. I’m a highly accomplished and dedicated teacher, with extensive experience and knowledge in many programs designed to help struggling learners strengthen their academic skills and build confidence. These include Orton-Gillingham decoding and spelling techniques such as PAF, Wilson and Fundations, instruction tailored to improving reading fluency and comprehension, and structured writing programs, including Basic Writing Skills and Empowering Writers. I hold New York State Teaching Certification in Reading and Special Education.
I’m offering potential students and their families a free initial consultation, low cost diagnostic assessments, and complimentary pamphlets on how parents can help their students improve school performance. Goals and objectives will be developed for each individual student and progress will be monitored. I am available to provide all consultation, diagnostic and tutoring services in the client’s home.
