Anthony was an excellent social media expert for the choir! And they still need promotion, conversations and PR. I will simply act as a "manager" of sorts, but we need someone to take over the reins.

Tomorrow we say our final goodbyes to our friend and Vice President of the Friends of Northwestern Choral Society.

For years, Anthony Bailey has informed you and managed this page with excitement about everything going on at Northwestern VPA.

He has promoted the choir and has assisted Mrs. Jones as she took on as Director. He will be missed terribly.

Tonight, the alumni and present choir celebrated together in preparation for singing for Anthony's service. While we were brought together for a solemn purpose, Music brings joy and our musical family always has a good time when we sing.

This choir spans class of 1999 to class of 2019!! 20 years of students....and Anthony touched them all!

We will miss you, Anthony!

The evening starts at 7pm. Tickets are $8 or $5 for students and seniors. There's only two more shows left after tonight!

Join us tomorrow at 7pm for our OPENING NIGHT show of "Grease"! The show has five dates that run through next Saturday. Be sure to catch at least one of the shows. This is part of the annual Fall Production put on by students in our Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, which include many of our Choir members. Tickets are $7 (sold at the door) and students + senior citizens with an I.D. get a discounted rate of $5. Go greased lightning!

Revving up for our Center for the Visual and Performing Arts' fall production of Grease featuring many of our Choir members! You can tell this show is going to be amazing! Showtimes are: December 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, and 19th at 7pm and December 15th at 10am. Tickets are $7 for the general public and $5 for students and senior citizens (I.D. verified). Tickets will also be sold at the door.

A reminder that VPA Choir will be headed to Montgomery College in Rockville, to participate in the Department of Music's Winter Concert. The Northwestern VPA Orchestra will accompany us. The groups will board buses at 4:15pm from 6800 Adelphi Rd, which is directly in front of University Christian Church, because of conflicting traffic due to the dismissal of school. The groups are due to return at approximately 10pm. All performers are responsible for their own rides home. See you tomorrow!

The VPA Choir will be performing with the VPA Orchestra at Montgomery College for the Department of Music's Winter Concert, on Wednesday, December 2nd at 7pm. Transportation is being provided by our non-profit organization, Friends of the Northwestern Choral Society. All performers should have permission slips and should be in the process of returning them back to Ms. Jones if you're a choir member. Parents are responsible for ensuring their child has a ride home upon arrival back home around 10pm that evening.

The Jim Henson Center for the Visual and Performing Arts at Northwestern High School, presents our Winter Production of the world renowned musical, "Grease!" The musical will be presented on December 10 & 11 and 17-19 @ 7pm in our auditorium, so there's plenty of opportunities to catch our show. Students from all of VPA majors (the means our amazing choir!) will be featured in this production. See you there!

Do you have an artistically gifted 8th grader who will be a high school freshman next year? If so, consider having them (or yourself) apply for our Center for the Visual and Performing Arts program. Join us tonight as the Jim Henson Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts presents our annual "Fiesta Latina" cultural celebration, beginning at 7pm in the cafeteria. Food and entertainment are on the menu for this evening. Proceeds go towards the VPA Program. Admission is $5 and there's a separate charge for food. Hope to see you there!

Mark your calendars! Our annual "Fiesta Latina!" VPA Fundraiser and Cultural Celebration, will be held this year on Thursday, October 29th from 7-9 p.m. in the Northwestern High School Cafeteria. Applications are now being accepted for our Center for the Visual and Performing Arts program. The CVPA program is a highly selective, rigorous four-year specialized program, that offers college prep and professional career prep study in the visual arts and performing arts. Prospective students interested in joining our VPA Choir, must first audition for entrance into the CVPA Program. Admission to the program is through a competitive, two-stage application process. A reminder that VPA Night / Back to School Night, is tonight at the school. Events start in the cafeteria on the first floor, then we'll eventually branch out to the chorus room in the arts wing on the 2nd floor. You were the pioneer of the "Friends of Northwestern" non profit and a visionary of our international travel.. our prayers are with you and your family......please know that your wonderful deeds and your "never say never' spirit remain a part of our fabric!!!

Good afternoon. Visual & Performing Arts (VPA) Night is scheduled for Thursday, September 24th from 6-8pm. There will also be an introductory parent meeting in the chorus room, where goals of this year will be discussed, and parents will be introduced to our nonprofit organization, Friends of the Northwestern Choral Society, Inc.
