Wishing a spark-tacular birthday to our favorite Fourth of July birthday—Brad! 🇺🇸
Brad is always quick with a pun or clever joke and known as a major dog lover! Students look to him as a leader who’s always ready to lend a hand with any safety or maintenance question. We’re so glad you’re part of the CFL student body, Brad—hope your day shines as bright as the fireworks! 🎇🎉

Our newest College for Living student, Drew, just led his very first Resident-Led class—and it was nothing short of super! Drew shared his passion for superheroes (with a special shoutout to Marvel) and guided everyone through creating their own original heroes, complete with powers, backstories, and catchphrases.
We marvel at the creativity and confidence our students show when given the chance to lead. It’s inspiring to see them stretch their wings—or capes—and soar! 💥🦹♀️🗯️

Our students had a blast making treats for the dogs at Louisville Metro Animal Services! We love seeing them excited to give back—and what better way than by helping our furry friends? Teaching the value of community service is an important part of what we do, and this project was a tail-wagging success!

🎉 Today marks a major milestone in College for Living’s history — and in Daniel’s life!
One year ago, Daniel became our very first graduate to move into his own apartment and begin living independently in the community. Daniel has shown excellent retention of the skills he learned at College for Living and has successfully adjusted to his new routine outside of CFL, keeping a vibrant social circle and staying connected through our alumni program.
Congratulations, Daniel! We couldn’t be prouder of you. You’re a shining example of what’s possible, proving that individuals with differing abilities can not only live independently — they can thrive.

Last week students learned all about the process of pickling food and its benefits. This week they had the opportunity to pickle a variety of vegetables of their choice. Big shoutout to Brad—our Pickle Master Champion! He went above and beyond by creating four jars with four unique flavor profiles! 🥒🥇
Honorable mentions go to Drew and Matt for following the recipe perfectly and safely—great work, team!

Spring is here, and that means it’s time for planting! Our College for Living students rolled up their sleeves and created their very own herb garden—built and planted from scratch! From basil to mint and everything in between, they’ll be able to enjoy the fruits (or herbs!) of their labor all summer long. We love watching our students grow—in more ways than one!

Brad had a goal: organize his kitchen. After doing some research, he decided the best solution was to build a shelf himself! With help from his mentor, Brad measured, drew up plans, created a budget, bought supplies, and built and sealed the shelf from start to finish. Brad has always enjoyed working with his hands and making things for his apartment is a fantastic use of his skills!
