This can be especially true during the holidays. Please remember the true Reason for the season.

This isn’t directed at anyone in particular but… you know who you are! 🤣

This hit home a bit for me this week.

Who else needed to see this today like I did? It is all about perspective.

Everyone loves a sale!

I love this picture. It applies to work but also to life in general. If you’re not pointed in the right direction, it doesn’t really help that you’re going there quickly!

Lots of truth in this… are you in the right place?

Happy October. Here’s some important Halloween advice…

Anyone else do this? Every little bit adds up. 🤷‍♂️

Don’t ever lie on your resume’. But sometimes you have to be creative in how you describe things.

A lot of truth in this visual…

What’s the easiest way for you to waste money? For my clients, the two that I see the most often are eating out and Amazon (both of which I personally love). 🤦🏼

Sad but true lately…

What’s your budget-busting store… Sam’s, IKEA, Target, somewhere else?

Does anyone else feel this way about budgeting?

Virginia Tax 18/07/2022

Virginia Tax

Public Service Announcement for Virginia taxpayers:

A recent legislative change requires taxpayers to submit all of their income tax payments electronically if:
* Any estimated tax payment exceeds $1,500; or
* Any extension payment exceeds $1,500; or
* The total anticipated income tax liability in any taxable year exceeds $6,000.

Individual taxpayers should start making all of their payments electronically if any of the above conditions apply to them. This includes all payments for estimated taxes, extension payments, and any other amounts due when a taxpayer files a return.

Visit the Virginia Tax website (link below) for more information on individual income tax payment options.

Virginia Tax Use these options if you're paying after you've filed your return. You can also pay at the time of filing through approved electronic filing options, and schedule your payment for any day up to the filing deadline.

Anyone else feel like this lately?

We all make mistakes… financial and otherwise. What financial mistakes have you made that others can learn from?

FYI... the IRS just announced that it will increase the standard mileage rate for qualified business driving for the second half of 2022. The adjustment reflects the soaring cost of gasoline with the nationwide average price of regular unleaded gas currently at $5.01 a gallon. This is compared with $3.08 a gallon a year ago.

Beginning July 1, 2022, the standard mileage rate for business travel will be 62.5 cents per mile, up 4 cents from the 58.5 cents-per-mile rate effective for the first six months of 2022.

Talk to your CPA for details but if you have unreimbursed travel as part of your job, you may be able to deduct it at tax time so keep good records.

Walmart’s “rollback pricing” isn’t what it used to be. This inflation is rough. 😂

The stock market has had a rough ride recently but try not to lose sight of the big picture. Think about the long-term. Even if you are in or near retirement, you should only need access to a small portion of your investments each year so everyone can afford to be patient.

Every job/office is different, but I think this is generally pretty accurate.

A good leader clearly knows the difference.

I don’t usually brag about my personal wealth but… I have a full tank of gas. 🤑

The stock market has had a rough last few months but this is part of a very normal periodic correction that must occur as part of long-term growth. I certainly can’t predict what the stock market will do in the coming weeks or months… but I take comfort in the fact that the overall stock market has averaged around a 10% annual return for the past 50+ years. Stay the course.

Excellent advice for anyone on a job interview…
