Swift Water Elementary School

Today we celebrated or 5th graders with a Moving On Ceremony. We are proud of of 5th graders because they have worked hard, grown a ton and are amazing humans. Thank you Swift Water families for sharing your students with us. We know they are ready for the next step, middle school!

On Friday, June 13 the Peninsula School District hosted the Day of Champions. The Day of Champions was an adapted, inclusive field day designed for ALL students. Our students traveled to Peninsula High School and participated in a parade, a dance party, and field games! A fun time was had by all!

Field Day was a huge success! Thank you to all our parent volunteers for signing up for a station and helping to make this day happen for our kiddos. A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Waage and Devon Ruston for orgainizing this amazing day!

Another Maritime Gig Parade in the books! Thank you to all our Swift Water families that turned out to walk on Saturday. We had fun seeing many of our students on the parade route and of course passing out candy! It was a beautiful day for a parade!

On Thursday, June 5, Swift Water students participated in our 4th Annual Inspiration Showcase! All students shared what inspires them in one of 3 ways. They could write about their inspiration, they made a display of their inspiration or they performed their inspiration. Our Seals were excited to share their passions and we were all impressed with their inspirations, enthusiasm, dedication, creativity and bravery sharing what they love!

On Monday morning Swift Water Elementary was presented with a banner acknowledging their students exemplary performance on the Washington State Smarter Balance Assessment in ELA and Mathematics.

Everyone of these stellar staff members had a hand in that accomplishment! Way to go staff and students! We are proud of you!

Last week our 5th graders were able to go to Camp Seymour for an overnight stay. It is amazing to see our students learning in a different environment. Thank you to all who supported and made this happen. Our campers have many memories to take with them into middle school!

Thank you to Harbor Covenant Church, Swift Water VPO and all who turned out on Sunday to help spread bark and pull weeds for our new Outdoor Learning Space. It's exciting to watch everyone's hard work take shape!

The Color Run was a huge success! Thank you to our AMAZING VPO for sponsoring and coordinating this colorful event. And Thank you to all of YOU who donated so we could surpass our goal! There was a Blow Up Dash, and Super Seals that started our event and every single kiddo was a beautiful rainbow of colors that ended with a delicious popsicle treat. A fun time was had by all!

We would love to have our parents turn out and cheer our students on as they run their color run. If you are planning on attending, we will asking parents to exit the field at 3:15 PM so we can send students home on their normal go home plans. We will not be releasing students during the event. If you have changes to your go home plan on Friday, May 23 we will need to know by 12:00 PM so we can make sure everyone gets to where they need to be. If you must pick up early, plan to do it before 2:30 PM.

Last Tuesday, Swift Water Elementary hosted our Kindergarten Jamboree! Our newest Seals were invited to Swift Water to meet some new friends and get familiar with their new school. As students were in the class learning about kindergarten, families listened to a presentation about what to expect from kindergarten. There were lots of smiles and no one tear (at least from the kiddos) on Tuesday night!

Our Seal participated in Move for a cause today. They ran around our walking path and tracked their laps. Watch for your students lap tracker tonight. The best part about today is Swift Water earned their Color Run which will be May 23! Way to go Swift Water!!!
