Here is a pic of me and my youngest grandchild of 11
I would love a get-together and would vote to keep it as simple as possible (i.e. eliminating as much work as possible). My suggestion was to gather somewhere on the lake (Switz, Waterfront, Lakeside) at 11:00 am (give or take) and everyone be responsible for their own food and beverage. We could have lunch and then spend the afternoon visiting and catching up. Anyone within a 2 or 3 hour radius could easily make this a day event. If we got word out via FB or simply word of mouth, it would eliminate invitations. Diane has done a wonderful job of creating this page. I'll be anxious to hear other ideas. I'm not even sure this would have to be a weekend event. How many are still working? (And I'm sure a few are).

I am sorry to say, that Kathy Holley Mattison passed away last night. RIP Kathy. Many loving posts on her page.

Merry Christmas to ALL my HCS Classmates. Make sure you give me any news on the class if you hear anything. If it doesn't let you post here try my Diane Haff Rivers page so I can keep the class informed. Hope you all enjoyed your 50th graduated year with good enough health to move on to the New Year. COME ON 2022! May we find a cure for Covid-19!

Today, October 28th, 2021 Donna Kaiser came over to my store in Wallace as she is up from West VA. I invited some short notice classmates and 3 out of 4 were able to come over and see her too. Haven't seen her since graduation 1971!!
I just saw something that Rich Adams was on facebook so I took the opportunity to ask him about classmate, Sherrill Pratt. They were married for a while. He said Sherril died about 15 years ago with lung cancer. She was my neighbor in Wayne and could not find her before reunion to no avail. Now I know why. Too bad.

Here are my pictures from today. I didn't get everyone in my pictures. After I took these I just got busy talking to everyone. 18 of us. Our 50th reunion is now one week away!!! We will be gathering at property owned by Lori Georgia Hergert and her husband, Steve, at 9501 Grove Springs Road, Hammondsport, NY for a 50th Class Reunion. We invite the class member and one guest. We will be having hot dogs, and hamburgers. A couple larger salads and an assortment of chips will be provided but if you are coming please bring a dish, snack or dessert for all to enjoy. Also - please bring your own drinks. You may arrive at noon and stay as long as you like. The grill will be fired up at 1:00 and available all afternoon.
Leaving Hammondsport, turn right up the hill on Rt 87 for 3.5 miles. Then, turn left onto Rt 94 for 2.5 miles. Please park along the lane. You cannot see the property from Grove Springs, but you will find balloons at the entrance.
Lori will have a donation jar to help defray the costs of meat, paper goods, and the "port-a-potty" rental.
Can't wait to see everyone!!!
We are making a suggestion that anyone coming to the reunion that has NOT been vaccinated to please wear and mask to protect you and me. Thanks everybody and looking forward to a good time at Lori's camp August 28th, 2021.

August 28, 2021 the Hammondsport Class of 1971 will be meeting at Lori Georgia Hergert's property on Grove Springs Road. Please join the Hammondsport CHS Class of 1971 50th Reunion to share in discussion and get more details besides conversations with classmates.

Charlie suggested a change to the name of this page. When he looked ups HCS of course there were a lot of other names like that so I have changed the page to Hammondsport Central School Class of 1971. Hope that is OK with everyone! Diane
