At The Goddard School®, we’re committed to teaching children about diversity because we want them to feel pride in themselves while recognizing and celebrating differences in the world around them.

Today, we reflect on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., his legacy and his family who continue the important work of non-violent social change.

The holiday season is about giving to others, but don’t forget about you! Give yourself the gift of downtime. Busy schedules and taking care of a family make it hard to find the time in your day, which adds to the already stressful holiday season. But parents can’t pour from an empty cup! Take an afternoon, an hour or even a few moments to enjoy a cup of cocoa, read a chapter in a book or unplug for a while to help you recharge and get ready to tackle your to-do list.

Sometimes, getting it back means giving yourself permission to focus on what matters most during the holidays – spending quality time together. It’s the best present you can give to your children.
