Houston Homeschool Athletics Volleyball

Houston Homeschool Athletics (HHA) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that was formed to provide amateur competitive sports for homeschooled children.

Welcome to Houston Homeschool Athletics (HHA), home of the Houston Mavericks! We are excited for the upcoming seasons of cross country, volleyball, basketball, and track and field! Houston Homeschool Athletics was formed when SATCH directors Gordon and Maria Marrow retired the SATCH name. The vision of HHA is still the same. Houston Homeschool Athletics (HHA) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that was formed to provide amateur competitive sports for homeschooled children, ages 8 to 18. HHA will provide, under Christian leadership and guidelines, competition with teams from other types of programs--homeschool, private school, and public school. HHA’s mission is to compete in amateur sports at the highest level and be a witness for our Lord Jesus Christ.

[03/23/20]   Good afternoon HHA Family! Praying for each of you during this time of crisis. We will post any needed information regarding our upcoming skills/season as soon as life has returned to normal. Stay safe and healthy!💙🏐

The winner of the Grit Helmet this week, October 23, 2019 is Elia Petty. Elia is such a sweet young lady. She lives the true meaning of kindness and love. Elia plays as an Outside Hitter on our Junior Varsity Team. She always tries her best to contribute to the team. Elia has spent endless hours outside of her normal practices working to improve her skills. She has been THE most improved player of the season and because of her relentless striving and "no quit" attitude she has been chosen as this week’s Grit Helmet Champion. Elia brings determination and strength to our team and is a blessing to have in our organization. She is proof that hard work pays off! Thank you Elia for showing us what it's like to keep striving and to give everything you have both on and off the volleyball court. You are an example for us to follow!

The winner of the Grit Helmet this week, October 2, 2019 is Sarah Fryer. Sarah plays as a Middle Blocker on our 14u White team. Sarah showed great resilience and strength this week as we faced our giants at the 2019 Bayou City Volleyball Tournament. It was impressive to see her work through struggles and even defeat. Because of her decision to "push through" and "never give up" she has been chosen as this week’s Grit Helmet Champion. We have seen such great improvements from her this season and are excited to see what her future has to offer. Sarah brings determination and strength to our team and is a blessing to have in our organization. Thank you Sarah Fryer for showing us what it's like to push through when all is going wrong. It's players like you who make coaching so rewarding!!!

Our Grit Helmet Champion for the week of September 25, 2019 is Rose Bannon. Rose plays on our Mini Mavs team. She exuded great GRIT and character with her “give it all” spirit this week. Rose has a HUGE desire to work hard and perform on the court. She doesn’t let anything drag her down; she keeps a great attitude and team spirit. Every time Rose steps on the court she works as hard as she can to make a difference for her team. She has continued to be an encouraging influence both on and off the volleyball court. Thank you Rose Bannon for showing us all what it is like to be a great team player, never stop fighting, and to always keep smiling!

The winner of the Grit Helmet Award, September 4, 2019 is Kirsten Benigni. Kirsten is one of the most competitive and energetic volleyball players I've ever met. She is always working and always trying her best. Though the struggle of self control is undoubtedly difficult, she has worked hard to overcome and has grown into a great leader. Because of her selfless attitude and team spirit she has been chosen as this week’s Grit Helmet Champion. She may be small, but Kirsten has taught us that no matter what is going on around us, we choose our attitude. I'm so very grateful to have her and her family at HHA. Thank you Kirsten for being such an encouragement. You always make us smile!

The winner of the Grit Helmet this week, September 11, 2019 is Kiana Austin. Kiana is such a hard working and caring young lady. She exemplifies the true meaning of leadership and love. Kiana plays as a Setter on our JV Team. I have, on several occasions, overhead her building up other players, encouraging them when they were down or nervous and giving them the "you can do it" talk. She places their needs above her own (this is one of the most difficult characteristics of a team player and friend). Because of her selfless nature and positive attitude she has been chosen as this week’s Grit Helmet Champion. Kiana brings strength and desire to our team and is a blessing to have in our organization. Thank you Kiana Austin for showing God’s love in your words and actions regardless of the circumstances surrounding you. You are an example for all of us!

The winner of the Grit Helmet this week, September 18, 2019 is Tabitha Murray. Tabitha is one of the kindest, most loving volleyball players I've ever met. She never complains and always tries her best. Tabitha plays as the Libero on our 14u White team and is one of the most encouraging players on and off the volleyball court. Because of her selfless attitude and team spirit she has been chosen as this week’s Grit Helmet Champion. Tabitha has taught us that no matter what circumstances we find ourselves, there is always someone in need of our encouragement. We're so proud to have her and to know that we get to be a part of her story. Thank you Tabitha for being such a great young lady, for consistently working your hardest, and for always "cheering on the team"!!!
