Operating as usual

[11/04/20]   It’s with a heavy heart we inform you all that we can no longer keep our doors open. The pandemic was just too much of a hit for our little business. We will miss seeing all of your sweet faces. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.

[06/24/20]   Parents: Do you want to see more virtual camps? 1 Hour per day for 5 days? We have partnered with another company and will be able to offer more camps if you are interested! Please comment and let us know.

[06/01/20]   Parents and Ninjas today is the first day of summer camps-
Last year we received an overwhelming ask to have afternoon camps and Full Day camps. In order to respond to our community's needs, we are trying to accommodate the variety of families we serve. We realize that for these 10 weeks a year, this may inconvenience some of you and we apologize. We ask that you please be patient with us during the summer. Especially THIS summer as ninjas come back to make up hours missed during the pandemic. Your patronage of our small business is greatly appreciated as we navigate new waters.

[03/30/20]   Hi Ninjas and Parents!
I have sent you an email today with an invite to our Google classroom. There are challenges in there for the ninjas to do and the more they submit, the more their names are entered into a drawing for a $100 GC to Game Stop! This is in addition to the classes we are hosting online (Tues-Thurs from 3-6 pm). Please let me know if you have any questions. Shoot me a text at 318-230-2636. We miss seeing all our ninjas!

[03/24/20]   Hi Parents! I want to give a shout out to all 12 of the ninjas logged on to get their coding classes! Jacob is so excited to see your faces! 03/20/2020

Google publishes largest ever high-resolution map of brain connectivity

This is incredible, even if it's just a fruit fly! Maybe one day, one of our ninjas will be a part of publishing a human version of this. 🧠

Is it just us or does this kind of look like a ninja head? 🤔 A map that could one day yield hidden scientific treasures. 01/19/2020

We Need STEAM, Not STEM Education, To Prepare Our Kids For The 4th Industrial Revolution

Leonardo Da Vinci was on to something years ago when he stated, "Study the science of art. Study the art of science." 🎨 At Code Ninjas, we're all about fostering your child's creativity! In education, many people have heard about STEM, a philosophy of education that incorporates science, technology, engineering, and math. Fewer have heard about STEAM. The addition of A for arts is seen as a critical element to educate children for jobs in the 21st century. 01/12/2020

Beyond Screen Time: Better Questions for Children and Technology in 2020 - EdSurge News

"The past ten years have seen rapid development and deployment of technology and digital media that have become part of young children’s daily life. But in the end, it’s not the technology but what young children do with it that matters most." 👦💻👧 This op-ed is part of a series of reflections on the past decade in education technology. Trends For STEM Careers In 2020: Space And Life Sciences

The STEM skills we teach our ninjas could some day help them pursue jobs working on spacecraft or using biotechnology to create new materials. The possibilities are endless! 🧑‍🚀🧑‍🔬 New avenues will be opened in space, supersonic aviation, as well as biotechnology. Products such as animal free leather, food from carbon, water and electricity, rather than plants are some examples of innovation coming forward in the next decade. STEM will also transform our perception of art.

[12/31/19]   Friendly Reminder for Holiday Hours:
Today we will close at 5 pm. We will be closed tomorrow for NY Day. The Python camp has been cancelled and we will resume normal operations at 2 pm on January 2, 2020!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 12/29/2019

Why Coding Is Cooler -- And More Important -- Than Ever

"Now, the whole notion of being a developer has been flipped on its head: It’s cool to write code."

The perception of coding shifted greatly in 2019 - for the better. We know this will continue into the new year and can't wait for what's to come! 👩‍💻👨‍💻 Those of us who can “speak in code” have never seen better opportunities in the business world. 12/22/2019
