This week, Mackenzie Childs, MS had the pleasure of attending two of the best professional development opportunities to date:
One with the Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) Houston, who put on an AMAZING event with guest speakers, John Ruhlin, with Gift-ology, and renowned entrepreneur, Jesse Itzler. Both these gentlemen had the UTMOST wisdom to share and we are so glad she was able to be a part of it. Thank you, Jeremy Jenson, for the invite!
Then, the next day, Mackenzie was able to attend a Personality Profiling class - centered around specific hiring tips and tricks. This class was curated by Paul Williams and Brian Desilets of Clarity Consulting Corporation. We are so excited to get to share these tactics with our clients, helping them to hire only the best talent in this weird time for employment.
All around super grateful for these opportunities to learn and grow!
We have the UTMOST respect for these two gentlemen who presented on Situational Awareness today. They came all the way from San Antonio and South Austin to bring their expertise to those who attended our seminar.
Among their workings on security, threat analysis, and private detail, they are offering a course on Situational Awareness that we HIGHLY recommended to all. This can help everyone and increase your overall wellbeing, personally and professionally.
DM us for more information.
Thanks again, guys - until next time 👋🏼

Are you going through some weird times? 🧐 Us, too!
Things seem to be shifting and without any explanation, people seem to be acting very strange - out of their normal. Why?
Well, we found an article that may help define what the heck is going on! Here's some highlights:
1. Stress (yepp, feel that!)
2. Increased Alcohol Use (hmm, interesting)
3. Isolation (this does weird things just on its own!)

Why People Are Acting So Weird Crime, “unruly passenger” incidents, and other types of strange behavior have all soared recently. Why?
Here's something you may not know about our CEO, Mackenzie Childs:
For five years during and after graduating with her Bachelor's degrees, Mackenzie spent a significant amount of time working with children and adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (or ASD). These wonderful humans have a special place in her heart, as they helped shape her understanding of human behavior.
Mackenzie says, "once you've met one person with ASD, congratulations - you have met one person with ASD. Each and every one of these individuals is just that - their own individual."
April is Autism Awareness Month and what you may not know is that this diagnoses impacts roughly 1 in 44 children - just in the US. Here is a wonderful article outlining the details of what this diagnosis means and how we can be a little more understanding of these amazing people: https://www.cnet.com/news/what-you-need-to-know-about-autism-spectrum-disorder/?utm_medium=10today.us.mon.rd.20220404.436.1&utm_source=email&utm_content=article&utm_campaign=10fortoday4.0styling

A huge THANK YOU, to all that came out for our Blink Academy: Reversing Burnout seminar yesterday! The conversation was thoughtful and strategic ways to help businesses right now were achieved!
If you missed myself and Verna Lynch, CPBC, SCAC yesterday - we will be hosting a webinar with the same content on May 12th, 2022 (details coming soon).
As I was scrolling this morning, I found this article that furthers the conversation yesterday. My main take-aways included:
Is America ready for the mental disease that is to follow the physical disease? And, as stated by the author, "... I found this advice from Harvard Business School faculty helpful – things like showing compassion, being honest about the company’s need and leading with empathy. But no matter how good a back-to-office plan is, they’re all a reminder that we’re insistent on building a post-pandemic world that mirrors the pre-pandemic one."

Did you know?
The Blink Academy Series: How to Be Indispensable at Work is sponsored by the absolute best in our community! Here's a little bit of information on our Presenting Sponsor, straight from her heart, outlining her role as a woman entrepreneur:
"Time for a little hard-hitting flashback, from yours truly: I, like so many other women, struggled silently with body image, thinking it was normal to constantly criticize my looks. This ultimately took a toll on how I viewed my worthiness as a woman because the respect I had for myself was dependent on what people said about me.
When I started my career as a professional photographer, I visibly saw through talk and through poses, these exact thoughts I struggled with for so many years echoed in my own clients.
But what I saw in my clients was vastly different from how they viewed themselves in the mirror: I saw the honest, rare beauty in every single woman. It was then that everything clicked.
I immediately shifted my approach to photography and decided to make it my priority to help women discover their true self-worth — through the lens, yes, but beyond it as well.
The entire Luxury Photo Experience — from the pre-photoshoot consultations to photoshoot day to the printing process — is meant to serve as a reminder to every woman at any size, age, shape, or color that beauty doesn’t discriminate.
Because beauty goes beyond physical appearance — it’s a trait that shines outwards from within." -- Chelsea Williams

Chelsea’s immense passion for photography is apparent in all the ways she’s involved in the community. She first received her Bachelor’s Degree in Photography from Sam Houston State University, but being the ambitious woman she is, she wanted to continue to work towards expertise and excellence. So, she continued on to earn a certification from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), as well as became an active member of the Texas Professional Photographers Association (TPPA).
Join her and others alike for the next seminar where we dive into burnout and workplace resiliency! Details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/494767655384051?ref=newsfeed
This is something we often take for granted as working humans. Time gets away from us as there are a million and one things we could be doing at any given time. Add in the responsibilities of our personal lives - and development is thrown (not just placed) on the backburner.
Here's some questions we ask our clients often: how do you know you are good at what you do? are there ways to be better? how would you like to get better?
At Blink, we ask ourselves these questions often (and are also challenged by those in our community) to continuously raise our bar for our clients. I wanted to highlight those in our community that make us better:
First, Terry Weaver with Reflective Media Productions. We were grateful to attend the premier of Breaking Strongholds: Episode 2. This amazing organization has made it their mission to combat the Pop Culture media around teen suicide. Check them out here: https://www.reflectivemedia.org/
Second, Christin Cherry with Heightened Leaders, who gave an amazing workshop on Creating Your Business Playbook. We learned many things on how to keep a business running, without feeling as though the sky will fall if you take a vacation. Her guidance is relatable and fun - loved this workshop!
And last (but absolutely not least), Nahchon Guyton with Best CEO ActionCoach. Nahchon is the official business and life coach for Blink (yes, even the coaches have coaches) and gave an amazing seminar on the definition of business and cultivating community. We learned how to leverage strategic partnerships and the secret to maintaining a high tide for all boats. Our main take-away, collaboration - not competition.
So, who's in your community?
We would love to help you find out!
