Meet our November Family of the Month, The Perez Tomasco Family!

We are the Perez Tomasco family! We moved here from DFW last year. Olivia is an Internal Medicine doctor and Mauricio is a sales manager for a software company. Oliver has been at Primrose since last year and he will be 2 in December! In our spare time, we love to go on walks, visit local businesses, play soccer in the backyard, and explore the Temple-Belton area! Oliver in particular enjoys dancing to music, books, chatting with anyone who will listen, and kicking the soccer ball around with mom and dad. He has grown and developed so much since being at Primrose and it has been a great joy to see how much fun he has with his friends and teachers. We can’t wait to see how he grows in the years to come!

We are so happy that they are a part of our Primrose Family! We hope that this snuggly Primrose blanket keeps you guys warm during this cold front!

Decorations are showing up and pumpkin spice is in the air! While this time of year can be exciting for a child, it can also be a little scary, especially for little ones under age 5. Check out these tips that may help your child (and you) make the most out of the season.

🎃 Let Your Child Pick Their Costume: When a child gets to choose their Halloween costume, they're likely to be more comfortable and excited. Let them try their costume on a few days in advance to get comfortable so day-of can be focused on having fun!

👻 Establish Real vs. Make-Believe: Embrace their imagination while teaching them the difference between make-believe and reality. Help your little one understand that even dressed up in a costume, people are still the same as before. You can use the costume to build a story with your child: What would your character do? What would they say? Where would they go?

🔮 Answer Questions Honestly: There's a lot to be curious about this time of year. It’s common for children to see things that might be hard to understand at their age, such as haunted house decorations or a mummy costume. Answer their questions truthfully while reassuring them it's only pretend and sometimes people think it’s fun to be a little scared.

🪄 Keep Things Safe & Have Fun: There’s no reason why parties or events can’t take place during the day when they’ll be less scary and safer in terms of visibility and traffic. Let your child take the lead, whether that's visiting every house in the neighborhood or just walking down the street. The key is that they enjoy the fun and fantasy, without the fright.

Save these for later and share them with a friend!
