We had a wonderful time making music with the Tampa Bay Symphonic Winds this past Saturday! Our students sang beautifully!

Dry Your Tears Africa, conducted by David Rosa, Artistic Director of the Tampa Bay Symphonic Winds.
Our students also enjoyed a solo performance by Kyla Knauer, Lumina Aurora’s conductor, singing Pure Imagination!

Everyone has a place to sing at LYC!

Jubilare is our brand new choir for singers with special needs aged 10 years and older who love to sing! In a fun and supportive environment, this choir will focus on learning proper singing techniques, music theory and sight-reading, part-singing, and the social skills involved in being a member of an ensemble.

Today's LYC senior feature is Lori Saint-Preux! Lori has been with LYC for 7 years! She's graduating from Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate HS and is planning on attending USF to major in Jouralism. Lori is starting college with a head start after earning credit through dual enrollment and receiving her Capstone Certificate. She said one of her favorite LYC memories was traveling to New York and performing at Carnegie Hall! Her advice to young singers, "Stay in tune with your soul and mind and don't give up on yourself!" Congratulations, Lori! We love you! 🎶

Today's LYC senior feature is Kenzie Tymon! Kenzie has been with LYC for 3 years. She's graduating from Land O Lakes HS and is planning on attending Florida Gulf Coast University to major in Marine Biology. Kenzie is graduating Cum Laude with recognition of four years in honor choir, and was the senior solo pick for the 2021 solo&ensemble! She's also the recipient of a Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. Congratulations, Kenzie! We love you! 🎶

Today's LYC senior feature is Megan Silagi! Megan has been with LYC for almost 3 years. She's graduating from Tampa Catholic HS and is planning on attending USF to major in Pre-Medical Sciences. Megan received the USF Director's Award and is in the top 10% of her graduating class. She was also an active member in BETA and NHS at TCHS. Megan said her favorite LYC memory was the time LYC performed with the Florida Orchestra at the Straz Center! Her advice to young singers is to audition for solos and get involved!! Congratulations, Megan! We love you! 🎶

Today's LYC senior feature is Matthew Lewicki! Matthew has been with LYC for 9 years. He's graduating from Hillsborough HS and is planning on attending New College of Florida to major in International Studies and History. Matthew is an International Baccalaureate program graduate, and was awarded Most Outstanding Hillsborough High School Orchestra Student. He is also the recipient of the Sketos Leadership Scholarship! Matthew had some inspirational advice for young singers and those who support them. He said, "My tip to future students is to persevere...artists are undervalued in our society and arts fields continue to get cut after cut. Your support of arts is meaningful and your support of all the amazing artists in the room is essential." We couldn't agree more, Matthew! Congratulations! 🎶

Today's LYC senior feature is Yeaniivah Jaward! Yeaniivah has been with LYC for 5 years. She's graduating from C. Leon King HS and is planning on attending Columbia University to major in Biochemistry. Yeaniivah is an AP Scholar with distinction, an International Baccalaureate Diploma Program Candidate, and received the Congress of Future Medical Leaders Award of Excellence! Yeaniivah said one of her favorite memories with LYC was performing at Carnegie Hall and meeting Bob Chilcott. She said, "If you love to sing, don't stop! You can never practice too much!" Congratulations Yeaniivah, we love you! Always keep singing! 🎶

It's that time of year again - we are so proud of all our LYC Seniors! 🎓 Our first senior feature is Lexi Hart! Lexi has been with LYC for 3 years. She's graduating from Steinbrenner HS and is planning on attending UCF to major in Psychology. Lexi participated in All County and All State Choirs throughout her time at Steinbrenner and was involved in NHS, BETA, and Tri-M! Lexi also received the UCF Pegasus Impact Scholarship. Congratulations Lexi, we love you! 🎶
