Speakers include FSU Law's own dogfighting law expert Professor Abrahamsen, dangerous dog law expert Fred Kray, Florida Bar Animal Law Committee Chair Ralph DeMeo, and world-renowned animal law expert Professor David Favre.
Congratulations to FSU SALDF for winning the 2014 Chapter of the Year Award! The parent organization Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) selected FSU SALDF out of 182 national and 20 international chapters for this award. FSU SALDF's projects and events impressed ALDF. Projects and events include the Steven Wise lecture hosted October 17th, the Southeastern Animal Law Symposium (SEALS) that will be hosted on November 7th, the Animal Law Writing Competition hosted during the summer, and FSU SALDF's active promotion of greyhound welfare during this past legislative session. FSU SALDF is appreciative of the help and sponsorship conducting these events from Pets Ad Litem (PAL) and Petagon International.

Thanks to everyone who came out to listen to Reps. Moskowitz and Wood and lobbyist Carey Theil speak today about the issues and pending legislation affecting greyhound racing! It really was a fascinating and enthusiastic meeting. Also, congrats to our new e-board... Stephanie Schwarz as Vice President, Kristen Sterrett as Treasurer, Kirsten Grice as Secretary, Caitlin Powell as Pro Bono Chair, Sara Marie McNeill as Volunteer Chair, and Christine Clolinger as President!
