As the owners, due to personal and family reasons dealing with our children we chose to close Tiny Steps after 11 years. On May 31st we closed and on June 1, 2022 Killearn Sunshine Academy opened with a new owner.

Good evening- with the updates on Tropical Storm Fred and since we follow Leon County Schools when it comes to storm closures, Tiny Steps will be closed tomorrow Monday, August 16th.

We plan to resume normal operations on Tuesday, August 17th.

Please be safe and if any of our staff or families need anything do not hesitate to contact Ms. Cassie or Mr. Andy.

Families we sent our phone numbers out through procare and staff should have ours or your immediate supervisors number at least.

TIny Steps follows the guidance and recommendation of Leon County Schools since many staff members are typically impacted by unplanned school closures.

Unfortunately, we will be closed tomorrow, August 16. Everyone stay safe and see you on Tuesday.

Parents please be aware you May have issues with your procare app as procare is experiencing some issues. They are working diligently to try and resolve the issues at this time.

Happy Mother’s Day to all our Tiny Steps moms, stepmoms, grandmas. aunts and other significant women in our kids lives.

Our man we posted about earlier is out of surgery and asking for food. Please keep him and his family in your prayers as he will need surgeries in the future (probably the rest of his life) to combat what he has going on.

Friends and family we need your prayers to lift a little boy up who graduated from our school. He is currently in surgery and has had to undergo quite a few surgeries recently. Please pray for his parents to fill comfort, for him to have strength, for the doctors to be guided to be able to care for him and find the answers they need to help him in the future. Also please pray that this will be his last surgery for a long time.

I, Andy, am at the school late tonight working on facility repairs (my honey-do list is never ending 😂) and I couldn’t help but be stopped by this wall of art by our kiddos. I am so proud of our staff and the work they do with our kids on a daily basis. 2021 has presented us with some challenges however, I know through consistent partnerships with staff and families and ultimately through Gods blessings - we will persevere and 2021 will be the best year yet.

March 1 marks our 11th year anniversary.

We are so grateful for all our families both current and past and look forward to all the new families we will serve in the future.

You will need a VPK certificate for daycare centers, head start and public/ private schools that offer 4yr old pre-k programs.

3. Apply for Voluntary Pre-kindergarten

You will need:
1. Proof of child's age ( birth certificate, shot record, passport)

Reminder:

We are closed today, Wednesday November 25th through Friday November 27th, for Thanksgiving Holidays.

We hope everyone has a great holiday and remember social distancing and following all CDC guidelines and recommendations. If you are traveling or have family traveling from other areas we need to know to ensure quarantine or negative COVID test is not required prior to your child returning to our school.

Thank you for your help to keep our school family safe!

During this Thanksgiving Holiday please remember traveling is not recommended by the CDC and if you are traveling we need to know where so we can ensure a 14 day quarantine is not required. Please remember to take the precautions of social distancing and mask wearing as well when in groups. We want to ensure all of our families and staff are safe. This year while thanksgiving will look different remember the meaning of this holiday and give thanks.

We are monitoring this storm and it’s track closely. Just a reminder our normal closures happen the majority of the time with storms in conjunction with Leon County Schools.

Over this next week please ensure you keep an eye on this page, our parents page and remind so we can update with any changes to our operating hours and also since this storm seems to be a bit wobbly we encourage all our families to prepare in advance.

REMINDER!! A lot has happened in the school this weekend, walls have been removed and a couple added. Progress on the kitchen is going well and on schedule.

Also - the owner of the two story “Due Diligence” building in front of our building and Tiny Steps are working together to improve the parking lot. Work is starting Monday and we ask for patience and understanding as we go though this process. Parent pick up and drop off may take more time, so please allow your self some extra time.
