Happy , Saints! This week, our SFEA Chapter delivered an astonishing total of 336 books in 13 boxes to Fort Braden School for the national annual "Read Across America" phonics and literacy event! 🎉🤓

Our current SFEA President, Emilie Fernandez, would like to express a tremendous appreciation to Frank Peterman, the SFEA State Offices Coordinator, whose time and effort supplied us with the bulk of our donation. Also, our thanks to community stakeholders, Fort Braden School, for supporting this fantastic event, particularly to Bambi Jackson, Dean of Curriculum, for coordinating with our SFEA Chapter. (And lastly, a shoutout to Tyree and Kyle, who helped move the books!)

Enjoy this excellent Friday and remember there's always time to read 📖🦁

It's Valentine's Day, and we're filled with love for where we live! Tallahassee has so much to offer. So, whether you still live in the Capitol or have moved across the country, let us know: why do you love where you live?

Check out our story to see why our current SFEA president loves Tallahassee!

Today we honor the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. and his incredible work for the Civil Rights Movement and leadership. The City of Tallahassee will celebrate with the inaugural MLK Day Parade, the 22nd Annual Day of Dialogue, and the 8th MLK Day Festival. In St. Augustine, Flagler College hosts the 37th Annual Commemorative Breakfast in partnership with the MLK Jr Celebration Committee of St. Johns County.

Our campus is closed in observance of this day of service.

Thank you, Dr. King.

Happy New Year, Saints! Let's make 2022 the best one yet. 🎆

Congratulations on Retirement, Dr. Chaviano! 12/15/2021

Congratulations on Retirement, Dr. Chaviano!

As winter break looms right around the corner, we look back on this semester and the influential people part of our campus. And at the end of this year, we say 'happy retirement' to two people: Dr. Richard Leonard and Dr. Susan Chaviano.

Dr. Susan Chaviano, a member of the full-time faculty since 2004, served as Coordinator of our Exceptional Student Education program. Her passion for exceptional student education and advocacy for people with special needs has inspired many of our students to follow in her footsteps and obtain their degrees in ESE. Dr. Chaviano brought a spirit of kindness and humanity to her work, our campus, and most importantly, our students.
(View Dr. Chaviano's retirement video here: http://ow.ly/tVkF50HbET6)

Dr. Richard Leonard has been part of Flagler since January of 2005. While being a full-time professor and author of many Business textbooks, he served as the Tallahassee campus's Faculty Senator. Serving as Department Chair for Business & Accounting from 2006 to 2014, Dr. Leonard always believed in the vision and mission of our campus: to assist everyone in completing their Bachelor's degree.
(View Dr. Leonard's retirement video here: http://ow.ly/Hxh550HbET5)

Please give your deepest well wishes to them both!

Congratulations on Retirement, Dr. Chaviano!

As the year comes to a close, make sure and grab a copy of the latest Flagler Magazine featuring Dr. Shelly Haser, the new chair of the Education Department in Tallahassee. Read about her background and her excitement to be working at Flagler College!

Saints, this is excellent news for the start of the week. Flagler College was ranked #4 for Best Regional Colleges in the South. We are proud and honored to be part of this great institution and serving our students!

Flagler was recently ranked by US News at #4 for Best Regional Colleges in the South! We're honored to be included in this prestigious list as we strive to enrich our students experience for a Life Well Lived!

Twenty years ago today, thousands of innocent lives were taken from us too soon. Today we honor those lives and the brave men and women who fought to protect our country during the tragic events of 9/11. In cooperation with different local organizations, Leon County will install a memorial that includes a piece of steel beam from the World Trade Center's South Tower before the end of 2021.

In addition, after the events of 2001, Flagler College's WFCF Radio Station team interviewed dozens of students, faculty, and staff to memorialize their thoughts and emotions after the attacks. The transcripts of these interviews will be aired today at 9 am EST on 88.5 Flagler College Radio.
