Eight of our seniors were honored tonight at Senior Night! Congratulations to Caden, Brendon, Carson, Ella, Julia, Alyssa, Erick, and Nicole 🎶

The Marching Buccaneers march under the lights as they prepare for tonight’s Varsity football game at 6pm and next weeks Homecoming Parade and Game at 11am and 1pm, respectively.

Our Symphonic Band and Choir have been working hard to prepare a variety of music from underrepresented composers - we hope to see you at Kent Island HS on Wednesday, October 11 at 7:00pm 🎶

Look at that focus! Our Marching Buccaneers percussion section warms up at yesterday’s Severna Park Maryland Marching Band Association competition. Many thanks to our volunteer parent “pit crew” for safely and efficiently moving our instruments so we could prepare and perform at our best!

Friday, September 8 kicked off our Varsity football home game season! See the Marching Buccaneers perform stand tunes and a portion of their competitive show this Friday, September 15 - the game versus Colonel Richardson starts at 6pm 🏈🎶

Three of our Marching Buccaneers spent their Saturday with the University of Maryland Marching Band! Senior Nicole Seiler got to spend the day with her older brother, Erik Seiler, former Marching Buccaneer 🎶

2023 graduate, Kat Alvarenga, is attending her first collegiate Band Camp at Liberty University. She marched flute at Kent Island HS and will be marching baritone at Liberty! Keep it up, Kat! 🎶

What a day yesterday was for our 2023 Marching Band members! Drill learning and music at camp, DCI Annapolis in the evening. 70+ parents and students traveled to the show, including our Kent Island HS principal, Mr. Harding! It was a great day to be Buccaneer! 🎶

Congratulations to senior Kate Fachet on earning Valedictorian status! Kate defeated the odds set against her - she earned this honor while serving as the SGA President, Drum Major, and performing in the Symphonic, Jazz, Marching Bands and Pit Orchestra (while being a member of so so many other organizations!)

Tonight we celebrated the accomplishments of the year at our Band Awards Banquet. Just in time for the banquet, we were able to announce that our Symphonic Band earned a SUPERIOR rating at the STATE Band Festival. Congratulations to our Symphonic Band members on an incredible year of music making 🎶 🏆

Congratulations to our Symphonic Band on earning straight Superior ratings from all judges! They traveled to North Dorchester HS for District Band Festival where they were adjudicated on three prepared pieces and their ability to sight read.

Congratulations to our freshman Concert Band who performed for the first time at District Band Festival and received helpful comments that will help shape their future performances. 🎶

Yesterday’s Designer Bag Bingo was an incredible success for our program. Thank you to everyone who attended and to our amazing local sponsors! We’ll see you next year! 🎶
