Last News on Loudoun County Public Schools opening:

Loudoun County Public Schools plans for returning to school for the 2020-2021 school year include two options:
- a hybrid model including in-person and distance learning that will include two days of in-person, in class instruction each week., and
- a 100% distance learning program that will keep students at home.

SAFARI KID, as a state licensed center, supports the education of children up to 12 years old. and provides service during the school year while Loudoun Public Schools are closed or offer a hybrid option.

Our spacious classrooms and playground allow the students to maintain social distancing and be educated in the new hygienic measures recommended by the CDC. As soon as the school year starts, our teachers will provide full day schooling to school aged children during this period of pandemic allowing parents to go to work while their child, using distance learning in our facility, follow LCPP curriculum. For safety reasons, classrooms are not exceeding 10 students.

Starting July 15th, we are ready to take registration for your child as you have finalized your selection of your child's learning options for the new school year (100% online learning or hybrid learning), please contact Safari Kid to enroll your child.

Furthermore, we will continue to pickup students from schools for the afterschool program.

Call Safari Kid at 571-375-0911 or write at [email protected]
to enroll your school age child. Space is limited.
“We are all a single organism, one nation”...”Our principal concern must be to educate humanity, the human being of nations in order to guide it toward seeking common goals.”
Maria Montessori

It has been more than a month since we have reopened the school. The teachers, parents and students are getting used to the new safety procedures at check in and off and during the day. Children have an extraordinary inner power of adaptation to new environments and new safety rules.

Children have experienced an unprecedented time of isolation from their friends, school, outdoor activities and social events. Because of today's technology, some activities and contacts have been possible. However, there is a challenge: the absence of real contact due to the barrier of the digital screen makes it difficult for children to differentiate between reality and fiction. This long period of only digital relationships has created some discomfort for children to readapt with the real human being. This reconnection is done in stages, as they have to follow social distancing precautions, and see adults wearing masks hiding expressions.

For the youngest children, it means that individual activities are organised by teachers. When a material has been used by one child, it is then removed to be clean and sanitized, ready to be used by another child.

Teachers who have the honorable task of educating the children, are now also highly involved in keeping the environment safe and hygienic.

June has also been the transition from the school year for school age children to the beginning of the summer camp. Safari Kid teachers supported the students still studying, assisting them with their school year curriculum, and making sure lessons and homework were done while in the Safari Kid classroom.

The summer camp program is composed of weekly original themes, is rich in activities and incorporates language, math, science, geography, culture, social activities and food while having FUN!

After this period of long isolation, and direct social exclusion, one of our priorities is to reconnect the children with their peers and the world. Through social and emotional activities, we assist the children with reconnecting directly to the human being. One of the activities presented is an introduction of the children to gratitude.
Here are a few comments from the children:
“I am grateful for not being sick”; “I am grateful to have a great family“; “I am grateful for playing outside”.
I wish you a great summer with us!
