This was another special commission, the last of 2022. My client fell in love with “Finding Beauty in the Rain” during the fundraiser for Ukraine. Fast forward a few months and she asked if she could have her own version created. A reminder of the strength Christ provides through the dark valleys of life. Besides the text and the cross, I added warmer tones to match her warm personality. Kyle made another gorgeous frame and I can’t wait to deliver it tomorrow before I head to France!

This is just a snapshot of the wonderful things that have happened in the studio this year. I am so thankful for all the awesome people I have met. If you or your child have taken classes, camp, or a workshop, thank you. I love creating with everyone! Thank you to all the talented artists who continue to be a part of the gallery, and especially those who have shared their talent through workshops and camps. The biggest highlight was seeing the community come together through art to raise over $12,000 for the orphans of Ukraine. Of course, thank you to my collectors for allowing me to continue to do what I love. I am so excited for all the new creativity coming in 2023. Wishing you much love and blessings in the new year!

I love creating special and personal pieces for people. This fun piece was a unique challenge, one I needed to get right in the design stage in order to keep the integrity of the beautiful door. I am so happy my clients love it! This is his grandfather’s farm in Italy. They were farmers and this door is from a farm in Kentucky. He fondly recalls his grandmother frequently calling “scampa casa che piove” (come inside it’s raining).

Before I was blessed with this beautiful space to paint, I was chasing the light to paint in my own house. It was during quarantine and everyone was home, so I didn’t want to continue using the kitchen. I ended up ditching my easel for the bathtub- all because of the muted natural light.

Happy Sunmontuwednesday, that wonderful time after Christmas when no one knows what day it is. I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday. Last week the studio was buzzing with Christmas cheer! In one class, kids painted winter landscapes, while in the others they created a special Christmas hanging for their mom. The adults in private classes refined their drawing skills. Today and tomorrow are the last classes of the year! There’s a couple spots available today at 4:30 for the 11-14 y.o. Also, there’s times open tomorrow if you want to bring in a group. Registration is open for the next round of classes which start February 1.

Students- get your sketchbooks out during break and draw your family. Drawing figures from life is the best way to improve your skills. And clothing on is perfect- but this cartoon from a fellow art teacher made me chuckle.

It is definitely feeling like Christmas in the studio. Lots of wonderful bubbling creative energy. This week some kids will be finishing their paintings while others may be starting something new. This month is a little more free flowing, so it’s not too late to jump in on the fun!

I love this time of year in the studio- so much festive fun! We kicked off the week glazing the ceramics from Sally’s workshop. They turned out SO beautifully and are ready for pick up.

We had winter-themed mixed media painting in the December classes. This month, the classes are stand-alone, and running through the end of the month, so it’s not too late to get your child in the studio for some creative fun! Shoot us an email to register.

We had both regular private classes and open studio, which we will continue to have through the end of the month. We finished the week celebrating a special birthday, as well as a watercolor workshop by Ayn for mommy and me. I love seeing the joy of family and friends creating together!

We have some awesome new classes coming in 2023, as well as creative collaborations that I know you will be as excited about as I am!

Yes we have e-cards available for artwork or classes! This is an especially popular idea for grandparents out of state. Hours today are a little different as I am fulfilling my civic duty. The gallery will be open later while we host a private party in the studio this evening.

There’s still a couple of spots available in tomorrow’s watercolor workshop. It’s a creative “mommy/daddy and me” time. I heard that Santa will be at the gazebo by Magnolias starting at noon! We have ornament painting in the afternoon- tomorrow will be a great day to make some holiday family memories!

Happy Wednesday! We have classes in the studio this afternoon: the sunshine of creativity on a cloudy day. It is difficult to get a good photo of these sweet works by because of the reflective nature of the resin. These photos are on woodblock, which means they can be hung on a wall or set on a shelf. These sheep make me think of the manger scene.

So much big fun in the studio last week. We kicked off the week with another round of Sally Runge’s fabulous ceramics workshop. We also had private lessons and the last of the November group classes.

It’s not too late to join the December classes. These will be stand-alone classes, so if your child joins all 4 or can only join 1 or 2, you just register for those dates. I’m looking forward to some holiday fun in classes this month! Email [email protected] to register.

You asked and we listened! A creative workshop by another awesome educator. The littles will have fun learning watercolor techniques to make their own unique snow globe. So incredibly proud of this young lady! She is a wonderful intern, with so much talent, dedication, and is such a light! There is no doubt she will make a difference in the lives of her future students. I know several awesome Springboro art teachers who graduated from Miami- it’s a fabulous program. Congratulations Keira!

I can hardly believe that in 1 month I will be heading off to my residency in France! Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive. We had so much fun this week in the classes, I am truly going to miss my students in January!

We have another busy day in the studio today and the gallery is open with beautiful gifts. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! With the holiday last week, we took a break from the regular schedule and offered a series of ceramics and glass workshops, with Sally and Debbie. Kids had the opportunity to create a pot on the wheel, which was a really cool experience for them. They also created their own ceramic ornaments. I can’t wait to see them after they are fired in the kiln! Debbie from Haute Fusion glass studio helped them create fused glass ornaments, which are also fired in a kiln.

Reminder that tomorrow and Thursday are the last of the November classes. There is still room in the December mini sessions, and you can get in on Saturday’s class as well. Email [email protected] to register.
