Koti Academy Update:
As the state begins with phase one of reopening, we understand that parents are being called back to work. Unfortunately, at this time we are still only allowed to provide care for essential employees and are operating with reduced hours. When we recieve an update from Governor Abbott and Texas Health and Human Services taking away these restrictions we will update on social media and start reaching out to families.
We love our kids to the moon and back and all the way down the railroad track 🌙 🚂 ❤️
When you can’t eat breakfast without your morning paper 📖
As we look to the weeks ahead, we want to make sure that our families are aware of the Governor’s recent declaration that child care centers are only permitted to care for the children of essential service workers. All children of non-essential services must remain at home.
To comply with this order, we are required to obtain from every parent or guardian that drops off a child a form where the parent attests to their essential worker status. Koti shall keep a copy of the properly completed form on file at the school.
Tiff’s Treats for the win! Thank you for spoiling the staff 😋🍪❤️ #bestparents #bestkids #beststaff
We have put together some Bee Smart Go Home Bags for our Preschool and Pre K families who are keeping their kiddos home during this time. The weekly bags include five crafts and activities that go along with our April theme of Birds and Eggs! Learn along with us even while social distancing. Pick up your bags next week!
We have the BEST parents! Thank you for lunch 😊
New Month. New Theme. Learning all about Birds and Eggs in April!
You may have seen Governor Abbott’s declaration to close all schools. We have received an email from Texas Health and Human Services stating this DOES NOT include child care centers and/or licensed home centers. We plan to continue to serve your families until ordered otherwise. Thank for your understanding and support during this time.

School may be put on hold for now, but we are still learning here! 🧪🤓#scienceexperiement #stem #stilllearning #kotiacademy
Dear Koti Families,
As our community, our country, and the world struggle to deal with the evolving impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we wanted to provide information as to the decisions we have made to date regarding Koti Academy of Spring Klein and the families that we serve. We are closely monitoring local and national reports, including guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization and applicable public health agencies.
At the time of this letter, Klein ISD has declared that their schools will be closed the week of March 16-20. Typically, it is Koti policy to close if the ISD closes. However, it is our commitment to our families that unless there is a city or state mandated quarantine, we will remain open.
We understand there are many questions and we hope to answer top 5 big questions below:
1. I have a school-age child, can they come full day? How much will it cost?
Yes. We welcome our schoolers full day during ISD school closing for COVID-19. We understand this is an unexpected and challenging time for many of us, therefore, if you need your kids to have full-day care, they are welcome at no additional cost over your after-school weekly rate.
2. I will be home in the coming week(s), therefore I don’t need to bring my kids until my job is back in session. Do I still have to pay if my kids don’t come.
Yes. You pay each week even if your child does not attend. If you prefer, you may use a vacation week (the request form is on the counter in the office).
3. How are you going to make sure we keep our children healthy?
Koti already utilizes an advanced antimicrobial service called DIS.IN.FX. Their service treats our school with a combination of high-powered disinfectants, cleaners and their RAZOR Antimicrobial Coating. This helps to limit cross-contamination via shared surfaces.
In combination with our renovation efforts, we have been doing a lot of deep cleaning. Moreover, we have expanded our day-to-day sanitizing protocol. We are frequently disinfecting often-touched areas such as door handles, countertops and shelves, tables and bathroom surfaces. We are asking all of our team members and families to follow the CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of infections. In addition to the frequent washing of hands, this includes the very important step of covering coughs and sneezes (our fancy antimicrobial coating doesn’t work if virus contaminated droplets of water from a sneeze or cough land directly on another person). Thank you for your help in reinforcing a good habit that we are gently and lovingly establishing here at Koti.
Additionally, on Monday we will be greeting and checking in your children at the front door and will walk them back to their classrooms (please note that those of you that need to swipe for NCI will still have to come into the office). This will minimize the amount of traffic into our main educational area. We will also confirm the health of each child before accepting them for the day and taking them to their classroom. A child with symptoms of running nose, cough or fever will be sent home until they are confirmed healthy.
4. With elementary schools cancelled, I have friends who don’t know what to do with their kids. Can they come just until school is back in session?
Friends of existing families are invited to bring their children for a special “non-member” flat rate of $250/week. Space is limited and it will be first-come first-serve. No registration or cancellation fees will apply. This is a simple week-by-week flat rate for this unique situation and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Please note: this rate is only for “non-members.” Your school-age child may attend full day at their weekly after-school rate.
5. What will my school-age child do all day?
They will do school . We have a four-week program ready for them where they will study Pond Habitats. We will be implementing a project-based curriculum to ensure they continue to learn as they wait for their school to be back in session. Every day they will do planned activities in math, reading, science, art and music. Plus – there will be time for them to have fun with their friends outside and in the gym.
We will continue to communicate with you regarding any additional precautions and/or modifications to Koti policies that may be necessary to ensure the well-being of all of our students and care givers.
To repeat, the health and well-being of our children, their families and our team members are our top priority and we are committed to doing our part to keep you safe.
