Another great performer today....

Had our Year End piano recital today!!!!! Everyone did so well.... such a great group of students and families....I am so lucky to have them all as part of our "Feel the Music" group...... thank you all so very much!!!!!!!!...... more to come!!!!!

I want to thank all of my students for their amazing performances at our recitals yesterday.........your hard practice paid off fantastically!!!!!!!!

You all are the BEST!!!!!

I also want to express my greatest appreciation to all the parents behind these wonderful students.....without your vigilant help, prodding, pushing and encouragement I could not have done it.

My time is so limited with them, that without their talent and all of us working together we would never have been able to achieve the great performances we had yesterday.......they were great!!!!!

I thank you all....students, parents and guests for coming out and joining us for our Christmas Concert!!!!!!

To those who were sick and couldn't make it..... I hope you're feeling better ..... and to those of you that were not feeling your best but and came and played I appreciate you so much!!!!!!

Only 13....yes 13 weeks until our Christmas recital 🌲🎄🎉🎁🎄🎄....so we need to get our fingers back in shape.

We also need to start thinking about our favorite Christmas songs so we can entertain our family and friends......the challenge is on!!!!!!!!

Praying that all of my students and their families are safe and sound. Hopefully you did not have rain come in your home's if you did I hope that you have been relocated to a safe place. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, your families, your pets and everyone associated with you. Yes I teach anyone who wants to make music, feel it and love it!!!!! I have students from 4 years old to 80 something.... he is a retired dentist and is amaxing.....plays with such a gentle touch!!!!!

Join our amaxing group... ages 4 and to..... lessons in your home ensures amaxing progress. Comfortable atmosphere and family support....recitals twice a year...Christmas and end of the school year.... however we don't end there....we have lessons all year summer and winter with the exception of Christmas Break, Spring Break and family vacations. Our schedule beginning in when school returns is almost full....if you are Feeling the Music give us a call...if no answer please leave a voice message and I will get back to you within 24 hours.

Wishing everyone a safe, happy and fun filled 4th of July!!!!!!

To all my Canadian students, families and everyone who would like to celebrate July 1st....Happt Canada Day

This coming weekend I know many of you are extending your weekend to celebrate this wonderful country we live in.

Some of you will also be celebrating our friends to the north..eh? July 1st is Canada's independence Day....
So whatever you plans be safe and enjoy......🇱🇷 🇨🇦!!!!

I know who most of you are that will be out of town, but if you have made last min plans to be gone from Thursday through Tuesday please let me know.

The importance Fingers exercises and scales.

I am always being asked why do I have to do these things they are boring!!!!!!

I have tried in all my years of teaching to explain why they are so important.

If you don't practice them it would be like learning the alphabet one letter every now and then and then trying to be able to write a sentence with any speed or fluid thought

I found this explanation and I really want to share it with everyone....IT IS IMPORTANT!!!!🎹🎶🎼🎹🎹🎶

Memorizing your scales accomplishes at least these four things:

1. Trains your fingers to play common patterns found in music. There are a lot of scales within your music songs. Eg. Flight of the Bumble bee tons of chromatic scales!!!!)

2. They can be a great eay for practicing other techniques, such as playing fast, playing in octaves, and playing fast in octaves.

3.It trains your ear to hear the individual sounds of a certain key and the different scale degrees within that key. When learning a new piece, practice scales for the keys within that piece. You'll catch your own mistakes more often since you'll be accustomed to tonal qualities of the keys in that piece.

4. It also trains you to play smoothly and in time. Practicing in a steady repeated rhythm will bring speed though muscle memory.

Also if you are learning a new song, or writing a new song knowing your key signatures and the patterns within the key signatures will help you improvise a new song or greatly improve your composing skills

Repeated practice of finger exercises not only increases finger dexterity but control of the muscles in your arms which is very important for dynamics.....which is where my passion lies in music.....you want to "
