Hey Gym Peeps! Donovan Kilmartin is looking for a good PT therapist and would like to know if anyone has a good recommendation. We would gladly appreciate it!
Drinking a beer at Real Ale brewing company. and thinking of Crossfit. Got a glasses for ya Frank.
Happy Monday, y'all! If you've not gotten your summer travel plans laid out, don't forget to check out our group trip to Mexico. Info can be found here: CFS Does Mexico. I've got some fun stuff planned that will really just make this a great trip! I'm not letting all the cats outta the bag yet.

It is an adults only trip, so with the heads up, you have time to find a sitter for the kiddos. You'll thank me later :)

If you need help with summer plans for your family, don't hesitate to reach out. I've been doing this a while 😉

Also have to add that if you're wanting to visit Hawaii - that's my jam. :) :) :)

You can call or text me: (281) 543-3096
email me: [email protected]
or send me a PM - comment if you do so I know to check it.

Thank you to Frank DeSantis and all the other veterans at CFS on this Veterans Day.

Great seeing everyone in the CFC family again today!

Great job to everyone! The venue was awesome, the vendors were great, and you guys, the judges and selfless volunteers, were awesome!

Today wouldn't have been as great as it it without you all behind it! 👍🏻
It was September 21st, 1994 when I stood on those yellow footprints in MCRD San Diego, not really knowing what I was in for, and at the same time, not knowing the honor it was until I learned of all the heritage, sacrifice, brotherhood and fierceness of the United States Marine Corps! From Diego to Camp Pendleton, Chesapeake, VA, Naples, Italy, Sarajevo, Bosnia, Camp LeJeune, NC and Finally Camp Geiger, NC, it was an incredible journey and I could not be more grateful of the men and women I served with. God Bless all of you Devil Dogs; from those Salty ones that defined what a Marine is, to those I served along with, and from those in now to the brave that will one day defend our great Country, Semper Fidelis! Ooh-Rah!

In honor of our 242nd birthday, we put together this WOD. Enjoy!

Huge shout out to the large cast of CFS Athletes that showed up today for our grueling and grinding track & Field WOD at .oak!! It wasn't easy nor for the faint of heart... It took digging deep and maybe a bit of mercy, but we all got thru and surely better because of it!💪

Thank you for providing such a great field for our community to go to help stay fit! We look forward to heading out again next Summer! 🌞

Coach Frank DeSantis

Background:

Born a Yankee, but bred a Texan. After high school, I served in the USMC 🇺🇸 for 4 years, in Security Forces, Infantry & Instructor. Since then, marriage, kids, graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BS in Finance, worked in Oil & Gas, and in my 13th year of doing CrossFit and 8th year of ownership!

Profession:

Head Coach & Owner at CrossFit Salute. This is not a hobby, side gig or leisure activity, but rather my 2nd love and full-time jam 😁

Fun Facts:

I love poetry (I've written poetry seriously since I was in 8th grade and I still dream of publishing a book) and post-classical music (the day I met my wife, she overheard me listening to this and got pretty skeptical😂); I am the only Marine (that I know of), that was ever invited and played in the Navy vs Army annual & televised Flag Football game in Naples, Italy (and scored a TD 🏈). Oh, and Jenny McCarthy called me a cutie once 😊

Hobbies:

When running a small business offers me down time, it is usually and most-often spent watching movies🎥 with the love of my life, . I also love to cook🧑‍🍳, and when time is truly a luxury, carpentry🪓! Fortunately for me, fitness is my passion, and so being in the business means I don't have to have it as a hobby... I live & breathe it💪

Personal:

When I met my wife in 1999, there was zero doubt we'd live the rest of our lives together, and 23 years married, we are still as strong as ever! I have 3 kids: MacKenzie (resides in NC), Laythan (Infantryman in USMC) & Aubrey (TTU student), and one Grandpup, Daisy 🐶

Why I do this?:

I've always been very competitive, and honestly, I used to hate to lose. As I've matured, the competitive nature still roars inside me, but wanting to live a long & healthy life and not be sick, is why I do this! Family is everything to me, and I want to be with them for the long haul! *also, when the Mrs & I vacay in Mexico, I need to look the best I can for her 😎

Coach Adrian Sanders

Fitness is a journey that can be challenging for so many. I am blessed to have always loved working out! Since I was a kid, being outside and active has been the lifeline to my soul! That doesn’t mean I haven’t had to deal with the social influences of steak nights, golden tees, and so, so many beers, and shots, and uh tequila nights. Twenty years ago, I started my health and wellness journey, and a journey it has been! So, I coach! I coach with passion, I coach with empathy, I coach to share my knowledge, I coach for the longevity of myself and my clients.
In my spare time I love taking my mountain bike out along the Spring Creek Nature Trails!

Coach Megan Pepitone

Background:
Grew up in The Woodlands and eventually graduated from The Woodlands High School in 2005. Received full scholarship and played Division I Basketball at Tulane University in New Orleans. Post graduation, I thought I’d never return to “the bubble” and lived in Houston for 8 years (Memorial area)…this is where I found Crossfit in 2011. Then, when I was pregnant with my second in 2017, we decided it was back to the burb-life for us. I walked into Frank’s gym 8 months pregnant and climbed a rope. 😅

Profession:
I’m a Regional Vice President for Transamerica in our Employee Benefits Division. Basically, I sell benefits through brokers to midsize companies in the 100-2000 employee space. I own a SEO/Lead Generation marketing company with one of my best friends. My husband and I also own (the only USDA certified organic juice bar franchise in the country) over on Kuykendahl and Woodlands Parkway. Add being a mom to that list (because I think that takes the most work 😂).

Fun Facts:
I’m actually a pretty good artist, but due to busyness of life haven’t painted (acrylics/watercolor) in FOREVER. Oh and I’ve watched Oceans 11 with Lil Jon (okaaaaaay) in the Dominican Republic. Ask me about THAT story. 😎

Hobbies:
Definitely Crossfit, but also Serving on ACTS retreats at my church (St. Anthony of Padua), volunteering at Kids Meals, and literally connecting people (if you tell me what you do and a problem, I’ll connect you with someone to solve it!). 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

Personal:
I’ve been married to my college sweetheart, Nick (who played Baseball at Tulane) for 10 years and have two beautiful/crazy daughters: Isabella 7 and Mia 5. 💕

Why I do this:
First, I’m competitive (almost to a fault) and needed something to fill that void after years of high level sports. I love to compete with myself and see improvements and gains as I continue to age. 📈

Second, being in the health insurance space, I’ve been on a mission to prove by example that our society’s overuse of prescription drugs can mostly be solved with proper nutrition and daily movement. 🍏

To look good naked is a given as well 👀.

Coach Stephanie Werth

Background:
I’ve been doing CrossFit since 2011. Professionally I am a certified Health and PE teacher and taught for 11 years before recently making the decision to stay home and raise my 3 children full time. Growing up I was involved in competitive gymnastics and cheerleading.

Hobbies:
Life these days leaves very little time for hobbies, but I love to cook (and eat 😋), taking my kids to explore new places, as a family we love to kayak and fish, and of course CrossFit.

Personal:
I grew up in the area and graduated from Klein Oak in 2006. My husband and I met in college at SHSU in 2007 and have been married for 12 years next month. We have 3 children, Jory (7), Cole (5), and Quinn (2). My family is my WORLD. I now stay home full time and homeschool my oldest part time. My husband owns a 3rd Party Logistics company, so if you need any freight moved let me know 😉.

Why I do this:
Growing up in cheer and gymnastics I never ‘worked out’. My ‘workouts’ consisted of playing around in the gym, tumbling, learning new skills, and perfecting form. As an adult, going to a typical gym bored me to tears. When I found CrossFit, instantly I knew it was a perfect fit for me. The community, friendly competition, infinite skills to master, and the constant challenges keep me motivated day in and day out. —And not going to lie, feeling confident with my body after 3 kids is a nice perk too .

Why I Coach:
I coach because I LOVE to teach! I enjoy sharing my passion of health and fitness with anyone willing to listen. The best part of coaching is getting to be apart of an athlete learning a new skill, conquering a fear, or hitting a new PR. I know that class hour flies by but I am always available to offer tips or advice if you need me!

Background:
I’m a west Texas native born in Lubbock. Moved around a lot due to my father being an Air Force pilot. I eventually ended up attending high school in Spring, Texas, and graduated from The University of Houston in 2015. After college I served 7 years apart of the U.S. Army Special Operations community down in Florida with 7th Special Forces Group. I first started CrossFit back in 2012 just towards the end of high school to start my preparation for the military. I had no idea it would take me this far or set me down the course it has as far as practical and tactical fitness.

Profession:
My first job after the military as of March of 2022 is with a global technology company working in production, marketing, and sales.

Fun Fact:
I love Star Wars. I’ve traveled to almost every country in South America and a few in Central America. Learned to speak Urdu briefly with my time in the Middle East.

Hobbies:
Crossfit, Visual Arts museums, Reading, Fine dining/lounges

Personal:
All I’ve ever wanted to do was serve in the military. Now that I have accomplished that I’m on another journey of re-discovering who I am and my new purpose in life. Haven’t been married and would like to have kids one day.

Why I do this?:
I knew at a young age that to join Special Forces I would have to be extremely fit and well-rounded to say the least. I always took pride in being able to push my body past its physical limitations in any circumstance. It was engrained in me that you never know when you will be tested physically, and if it would be your life or someone else’s life on the line. Moving away from tactical fitness style CrossFit, now I do it to continue sharpening the foundation I’ve set for myself for nearly a decade. Now it’s just a part of who I am. I enjoy hearing how I inspired someone to change their lifestyle to start exercising or have healthier habits because they see me doing it.

Background:

I’m a 7th generation Texan and 5th generation Houstonian. I served in the United States Marine Corps in the Infantry. After I served in the Marines I attended Sam Houston State University graduating in 2001. My passion for fitness started in 2017. I had never done CrossFit or any type of group classes until then. I was hooked the first time I participated in a group class setting and haven’t looked back.

Profession:

I am a financial consultant and have run my on Financial practice since 2002. I represent the a Christian based financial services company, Thrivent.

Fun Facts:

I played the Trombone for 12 years, sang in my church choir and in high school, I was in color guard for one year for the Marching Band (didn’t feel like marching that year, so I did that, still haven’t lived that one down). Played Rugby for the Marines in London. If I ever retire I would go back to bartending, loved doing that! I have ridden most of the most dangerous roads in the United States on a motorcycle.

Hobbies:

Golf, Hunting, Tennis, Bourbon and Smoking Meat

Personal:

Been married to my wife for 18 years, Casey. I have 4 kids, Grayson, Noah, Owen and Annabelle. Annabelle is the reason I don’t have 5 kids, had to have a girl. Lived in Spring since 2008 and attend Faithbridge since we have been in the area. My life and values was shaped by my parents more importantly my Father. My dad is the greatest man I’ve ever known. He was in a car accident that put him in a wheelchair when I was 6. I had to grow up very fast, and learned very early how important it is to take care of your family.

Why I do this?:

I train for a few reasons but mainly to look better naked! I love how it makes me feel to train. The adrenaline that working out gives me is the best drug on the market.

Why Coach?

I take pride in watching the people I work with get better. When I started doing this I never thought it would bring me the joy that it has. It’s very special to me to see how people improve and how much they keep pushing, especially when you keep encouraging them. You get one body to work with and you get to choose how you want it to function.
