Primrose School of Imperial Oaks

The Leader in Early Education and Care® Primrose Schools is a national family of private accredited early education and care schools across the country.

We are more than just a daycare. Through our research-informed Balanced Learning® approach, we provide meaningful learning experiences for children beginning at 6 weeks of age. The curriculum in our classrooms for infants, toddlers, preschool, kindergarten and after-school not only inspire a love of learning but also empower children’s potential preparing them for lifelong success. Each Primrose school is independently owned and operated by Franchise Owners, who partner with parents to help children build the right foundation for future learning and life, and offer an environment that helps children have fun while nurturing Active Minds, Healthy Bodies and Happy Hearts®. Our Mission: To forge a path that leads to a brighter future for all children. Our Vision: To deliver the best and most trusted early education and care for children and families across America. Enjoying our last official day of Spring Break!

[03/12/20]   Dear Parents,

It is our Bad Weather policy to follow our school districts decision to close our school during inclement weather. This policy WILL NOT APPLY during this situation. PRIMROSE SCHOOLS will be open regular scheduled days and hours in order to serve our families.

We require any enrolled parent, student or staff member who traveled internationally or took a cruise to alert the school director upon return from Spring Break or at arrival Monday, March 16. We will require a two week delay upon resuming regular school attendance for any person (student or staff) who has traveled internationally or gone on a cruise. At this time, the CDC has not restricted travel within the United States. When scheduling travel of any kind, please take all CDC and State Health Department recommendations into account.

Our school has qualified on-site management, effective training of the staff, and emergency procedures which are practiced monthly. This means that all staff are prepared so they know what to look for, how to respond to emergencies, and health and safety is at the forefront of everything we do.

We want to reassure you of the measures we have in place and designed to prevent the spread of infection.
• All classrooms are disinfected daily with a solution adhering to state guidelines for disinfection so that it kills germs.
• All toys are disinfected twice a day throughout the school and in all age groups.
• Additional measures are being taken to clean the school with disinfectant sprays and disinfectant wipes. Our external cleaning service is also using disinfectant solutions to clean floors and surfaces in the restrooms and on sinks.
• Teachers monitor children who appear ill or lethargic or who do not eat normally and report the information to management immediately. If your child has a temperature of 100 degrees or above, you will be notified and asked to pick your child up as soon as possible. During this outbreak we will increase our sensitivity to these safety precautions to protect children in our care as well as staff. Please note your child will not be allowed to return to school until they are symptom free for 24-48 hours without the aid of medication or until cleared to return by their pediatrician.
• Noses are wiped with a clean tissue and it is immediately disposed of, washing hands thoroughly with warm water and soap each time.
• Hand washing is routine throughout the day and happens even more often during influenza season to prevent spreading germs.
• The leadership team and the school franchisee are monitoring the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) website ( and the local health department for all updates on the Coronavirus and will advise school leadership teams on pertinent information to help keep our families and staff safe.

You can help support our safety measures by keeping sick children at home. Please notify us of any contagious illnesses with your child, or if another family member has been exposed to or diagnosed with the Coronavirus.

We follow the guidelines of local and state regulatory agencies and the Centers for Disease Control. According to the CDC, symptoms of the virus can include:
• Fever
• Cough
• Shortness of breath
The CDC believes at this time that symptoms of Coronavirus may appear in as few as 2 days or as many as 14 days after exposure. The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.
• Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).
• Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.
Currently, we do not foresee closing the school. Even if surrounding school districts close, we will continue to follow the recommendations set forth solely by the CDC and State Health Department. We will notify you regarding potential cancellation of school events as dates approach. Please rest assured we are taking all of the necessary steps to protect our families and staff.

Again, we are asking for your cooperation and understanding during this concerning time. Our hope is that none of our Primrose families are affected by this very serious outbreak. We will continue to keep you posted as appropriate.

We learned how to express ourselves through color and images this morning in Toddler Two with Mrs. Martinez! Drawing pictures is a very important part of a child's development. They use pictures and colors to tell a story and communicate with teachers, parents and friends. Asking what colors, shapes and squiggles mean gives your child the chance to communicate their feelings.

Today, our teachers were able to learn from each other, inspire one another and prepare for the school year.
Thank you, Primrose parents, for allowing us this day each year to strive to be the best for your children!

Happy 13th Anniversary to our WONDERFUL Older Infant Lead Teacher, Mrs. Romero.
