Check out this story from Rep. Mike Johnson's FB page about the actions of our fearless leader yesterday!
A remarkable thing happened at the Legislature this afternoon.
I was meeting in the Speaker's Lounge with my friend, LSU Health Shreveport’s interim Chancellor and super surgeon Dr. G. E. Ghali, when a small group of my fellow legislators burst through the doors. It turns out, one of our colleagues was having what looked to be a mild heart attack, and they were bringing him into the lounge for treatment by a paramedic.
What providential timing it was for my colleague to have burst into the room where I happened to be meeting with one of the finest physicians in the state!
Dr. Ghali jumped into action and took control of the situation immediately, stabilized his new patient, and then abandoned the remainder of his important afternoon plans to accompany my colleague to the hospital. It was quite a thing to watch. (My colleague is reported to be doing well tonight.)
Our family has long been a fan of Dr. Ghali because of the amazing job he did on my nephew's cleft and oral surgery, and because of his heroic efforts in taking the reins of the LSU med school at such a challenging time. Today I witnessed yet another example of why this gentleman is admired by so many people as a caring physician and a consummate professional. We're truly blessed to have him and his family in Shreveport-Bossier.
Farewell party for Dr.Master. We wish you all the best for your future endeavors at California. We will miss you.
