Today was a very overwhelming and humbling time as I walked into the BIC Auditorium to take pictures of Educators ( I thought maybe 50 ) which to my surprise to "SEE" the room filled, baloney full, plus sitting on floor !! WOW!! Embracing our Journey is beyond words!! 200+

Memories, just cant talk in a Mic!!😩🌹

8:30am this Morning;

(Deedee) just gave a heartfelt talk for our Parents, our Educators, and public!
We have partnered again with Bossier Parish Community College and Bossier Parish Schools

JOURNALING🌺

On April 15th, A Kids Choice Foundation set its sight on Meadowview Elementary!! Calling all 5th graders to the gym for their Journaling Assembly, I watched one by one as students entered those doors, looking all grown up with the almost teen age attitude, its been great 3 years seeing these students grow and become ready for Middle School...I grabbed hugs as fast as I could as well as getting journals to them before they sat on the floor to listen to all their Deedee had to share!!

BTW: Meadowview 5th graders were great listeners and attentive to every single word I spoke!!

I had a wonderful time sharing with them the importance of journaling; even a much more special moment as the students came and gathered in line to the Microphone in response to questions I asked concerning our conversation on JOURNALING!! What a great group of students that we all should be proud of here in Bossier Parish, LA!!

I woke up this morning writing in my prayer journal, going over my notes making sure I'm not leaving anything important out of journaling for our 5th graders!!

CURTIS ELEMENTARY, I'm looking forward to being with you on May 19th; get ready for our picture taking, get ready for our journals, and most important getting ready to stir you up on journaling for the rest of your life, capturing your own delicate memories and leaving your own handwritten legacy behind!!

Much Love, 💕
Deedee

[04/06/17]   ( I borrowed this from Donna Dickson Courtney, thank you my friend great post)❤❤

When you have a "normal" child or grandchild, who meets developmental benchmarks as expected, you are happy. When he or she gets good grades, you're happy. BUT- when you have a kid with some limitations or challenges, with each learning and small success, you pulsate and vibrate as if you had won a championship... I would like to ask you a great favor on an important subject:
It is Special Education week, not only for children with Down syndrome, Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD or ADD, but also for kids/teens with special needs; those who struggle every day to succeed, who battle disorders or learning issues over which they may have no control, and those who help them progress to various achievements and independence.
It would be great to teach our children to be kind and to accept all their classmates. Kids with special needs & challenges want what every kid wants: to be accepted!

CURTIS ELEMENTARY !!! 1:00pm
Journaling Assembly 2016

Today is my 6th year to be asked again to talk to the 5th graders, I made this time special to only this grade level as they move up to Middle School next year; journaling is a big part of our lives when you learn how important it is for many reasons!!

I have been journaling since Elementary, leaving a Legacy of my life to my children; there is so much for them to know about their Mama and my grands, Deedee; embarrassing moments, private alone times; enjoying my prayer journal, etc; sharing my own personal life, my Road Map, will one day be their Treasure and hopefully they will learn valuable lessons that I experienced to guide them through their own!!

Curtis Elementary I can't wait to get my hugs, and pass out these 300 journals for you to begin your new adventure in writing about your experiences too!!
