Hello fellow Orchid Growers. I just want to share this event with our neighbors. https://www.facebook.com/events/396803697634690/ The 2019 Arkansas Orchid Society orchid auction will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 15, at Christ Episcopal Church, Sixth and Scott Streets, Little Rock . Plants will come from both vendors and members, so we expect to have a good variety. Most will not be in bloom, but many should be blooming-sized. I expect to get American Orchid Society culture sheets printed up so that you can get quick information about how to grow your orchid. The web site for the sheets is http://www.aos.org/orchids/culture-sheets.aspx if you would like to get a head start. To get to our location, park in the parking lot on the south side of the church building and enter the door at the small porch on the end of the building. When you come in, go to the table to be assigned an auction paddle (a paper plate with a number). As the auction proceeds, hold up your plate to place a bid, and someone will give you your plant if you have the winning bid. (Bringing your own box would be a good idea.) Someone will be keeping up with your bids, and you will pay your total via cash or check at the check-out table. We will have refreshments, and we ask members to bring finger food for people to munch on. There will be plenty of experts on hand to answer your questions. They look healthy. These are at Kroger marketplace. I’d kill them, but maybe someone else won’t. 😄
I look forward to meeting you all at the show. Happy Growing.
Hello! From Arkansas. If folks are free this coming Sunday afternoon. I know it's about a 3 hour drive. But the Arkansas Orchid Society is having it's Annual Orchid Auction. These are mostly divisions of members plants as well as some from Orchid vendors. It's a great way to increase your collection at a reasonable cost.
I found your email via Louisiana Orchid Connection website. My grandparents are Boots and Nell Farrar of Bastrop, Louisiana. They are retired growers. They have a fairly large collection of prints, china, crystal, stained glass, Arthur Court pewter, and many other collective items. Many of them only a person with the love and knowledge of orchids would appreciate. My grandmother has decided to sell most of it as they are no longer in the business and the society they were a member of is no longer in existence. I wanted to reach out to you and see if you would be interested or maybe knew some one that would be. I don't want to advertise this in the open as I really don't want people in and out of their home, as their are elderly. If you are interested or know some one that is please feel free to reach out to me or my mother, Dewana Litttle. Our contact information is below.
