[06/08/20] Meeting this coming Sunday is cancelled
Good news! We will be meeting June 14, 2020 at 2:30 PM at Lex Plant Farm 9045 E. Kings Highway.
Bring yourself, a mask, plants!!. Time to get together again. The talk will be on orchid pests and diseases. Remember that beginning at 2 PM we will have a session with the orchid doctor so bring your problems and see if we came come up with a solution. See you all then. Snacks provided.
[03/02/20] Next Sunday March 8 we will have our monthly meeting of the SHREVEPORT orchid society at Betty Virginia Park starting at 2:30. Our speaker will be Dr Richard Jamison who will be speaking on tolumnias. These are delightful miniature orchids that grow well here. There will be an orchid clinic before the meeting starting at 2. Bring your problem plants. Also bring your blooming plants for show and tell. Refreshments provided.
[05/31/19] Remember orchid growing workshop at Aiken's nursery this Saturday. Registration is at 8:30. Cost is $30 and includes a free orchid. Food provided. Should last until about 11. Society members will be bringing blooming orchids for you to see. There will also be orchids for sale. Come join us

[10/31/16] Come join us at Sci port for the fall SWROGA orchid show and sale. The show is open to the public Nov 5-6, 2016. There will be vendors selling orchids, pots, art and jewelry as well as a silent auction. There will be two speakers on Saturday. The food trucks will join the event in the Sci Port parking lot. Admission is $9 for the entire weekend which gives access to the show and all of Sci Port. Come join us!! Bring the kids and grand kids. See beautiful orchids on display
[08/22/16] Please remember our monthly meeting every second Sunday of the month at 2:30 at the Randal T. Moore center on Fairfield. Come for the food, fun, fellowship and learn about orchids. We have a speaker every month. The second Sunday in October will be our annual picnic and plant auction. November 4-6 we will be hosting the fall SWROGA orchid show at Sci-Port. There will be many lovely orchid displays and vendors selling orchids, supplies, art and jewelry.

[03/09/15] We had a great meeting this past Sunday . Our next gathering will be April 11. The Slipper Guy will be our feature speaker on cyprepediums. The SWROGA show in Tyler, Texas will be March 28-29. Should prove to be a good show. Mary Mancini from Shreveport will be speaking on Neofinetias

[05/14/14] The Shreveport Orchid Society will be holding a How To Grow Orchids Workshop June 7, 2014 at the Randal T. Moore Center from 8AM to noon. Registration is $25.00 which includes a free orchid and food. Come and learn about these wonderful creatures!!
The Shreveport Orchid Society will hold its monthly meeting this Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the Randal T. Moore Center on the corner of Fairfield Ave, and Kings Highway. The meeting begins at 2:30. It you have orchids in bloom, bring them by 2:00 PM for our show and tell. The speaker this month will be Mary Mancini who will be speaking on growing cymbidiums in the south. She will have cymbidiums to sell. Hope to see you all there. Snacks will be provided.
The Society will also be hosting a tabletop show at the same location on February 22, 2014 in conjunction with the Shreveport AOS judging program and the International Phalaenopsis Society. There will be two great speakers that day speaking on growing phals. Registration is $40 which includes lunch. There will be plant vendors and a raffle. Ya'll come!!!

We have two wonderful speakers who will cover various aspects of Phalaenopsis breeding. There will be orchid plants for sale.
