This morning was our Final Family Chapel of the school year, which included the traditional all-school procession by grades 1-8 with their class banners. Our 8th graders led us in a lesson and sang in the choir. We were also pleased to have our kindergarten students and families join us. π

Congratulations to SMCS alumni Mark Henry '21 and Tripp Roemer '20 on their outstanding performances at the LHSAA Outdoor Track & Field State Meet last week! They were members of Loyola College Prepβs 4x800m relay team that finished in 2nd place and broke the Class 3A record. Additionally, Tripp earned 3rd place in the 3200m. Way to go, Lion-Flyers! πππ
5th graders are moving on up to Middle School! As 8th graders prepare to graduate, they gave their 5th grade little brothers/sisters their striped shirts and navy ties to mark the 5th graders' promotion to Middle School and to symbolize how a piece of each of the 8th graders will always stay at St. Mark's. π

Congratulations to Mollie (8th grade) and Frances (6th grade) who earned 1st and 2nd place in the Middle School Division of the Holocaust Remembrance Service Literary and Arts Competition! Additionally, SMCS alumnae earned recognition in their respective divisions: Frances Kalmbach '18, a senior at Loyola College Prep, won 1st place in the High School Essay category, and Hailey Huguet '20, a sophomore at Caddo Magnet High School, earned 2nd place in the High School Poetry category. πππ

We had so much fun at Fiesta Field Day! From relay races, backyard games and tug-of-war to an amazing after-party with food trucks, music and more, it was a wonderful day of community-building at St. Mark's. Thanks to our P.E. coaches and Parents' Club volunteers for organizing the fun! π

On Tuesday evening, we celebrated the athletic accomplishments of 100+ student-athletes in grades 5-8 who competed in 7 sports this year - cheer/pep squad, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, cross country, and basketball. Congratulations, Lions, for your hard work and dedication all year long! π¦π

Kindergarten students packed their bags and traveled to Italy, India, and Colombia for their annual Trip Around the World. Their journey was the culmination of their geography unit where they learned about continents, oceans, cardinal directions, and world travel. Their friends in 6th grade served as flight attendants, stamped their passports, and helped guide them through activities in each country. βοΈπ
