Thank you to the Rotary Club of Bossier City and East Shreveport Rotary for inviting me to speak on behalf of Proactive Partners. I embrace every opportunity to educate the public about the dementia education services that we offer and to provide a little snippet of our education to the folks who invite us in. I enjoyed meeting each of you in the past couple of weeks and look forward to growing our outreach and visibility with your assistance.

No it’s NOT November, but it’s ALWAYS an appropriate time to learn more if you are a care partner for someone who has dementia!

Family caregiver support - respite through learning November is National Family Caregivers Month (NFCM) as well as Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.

There is always, ALWAYS something you can do to improve the quality of life for those who have dementia. Learn how you can better engage with your loved one with dementia. Free education is available for you.

This is what a patient said to me today. In all of his rambling and confusion, this was the most enlightening statement he could have made. Everyone needs to feel they have a purpose, a reason to get up in the morning, a way to contribute to their environment. They need to be SUCCESSFUL at what they do. Let us teach you how to ensure that your loved one with dementia maintains that feeling of purpose and power in order to maintain a higher quality of life!
