School of Rock Announces Scholarship Program in Partnership with the National Museum of African American Music School of Rock Scholar Program to provide free music education for underserved communities.
Frank Zummo of Sum 41 met with School of Rock students last week at The Oriental Theater for a drumming workshop. Students from six Colorado schools had the opportunity to play popular Sum 41 songs alongside Zummo on stage, including "Fat Lip", "In Too Deep", "Motivation" and more. Frank then wowed the students and staff by playing an energetic, 90-minute solo set followed by an insightful Q&A.
"It was one of those events where you can feel all the positive energy and good vibes at every corner of the room and see it translate into the music and the crowd. It was a truly magical event that had everyone smiling and enjoying being together as a family," said Alex Knagg.
Frank, who has enrolled his 6-year-old son into the School of Rock program, has been a proud supporter of our music education approach for years, and graciously donates him time to help inspire the next generation of young musicians.

Epic article by our friends at Rolling Stone to celebrate the 10th anniversary of School of Rock Brasil. The article highlights a brand-new School of Rock documentary titled "The Journey To The Stage".
In partnership with Universal Music Group, the film crew followed more than 300 School of Rock students from various countries on an international tour where they had the opportunity to perform on stages across Europe, including the infamous Rock in Rio Lisboa festival.
Our schools in Brazil have also announced the release of a special digital album, Autoral 01, which is composed of 14 original songs developed and produced by the students themselves, under the supervision of their teachers and directors in the classroom.
Paulo Sérgio Portela Santos, the CEO of School of Rock in Brazil says, "we at School of Rock are very happy to be able to provide these unforgettable experiences in this journey of training, socialization and development.”

School of Rock Fort Myers owner Doug Harris started a non-profit for local musicians who lost homes, cars, gear and venues in the devastation of Hurricane Ian at the end of September. Once Doug got the word out, Gabriel Rudge, the owner of School of Rock West Cobb in Georgia, rallied together his own students and their families to donate to Doug's organization, called Music aLive SWFL. We are so inspired by our community members and how quickly they take action in times of crisis or when others are in need.

John Lennon and Paul McCartney finished writing "She Loves You" at McCartney's family home in Liverpool, England. When they were finished, they played it for Paul's dad, he said: and he said, ‘That’s very nice, son, but there’s enough of these Americanisms around. Couldn’t you sing, “She loves you. Yes! Yes! Yes!”‘ - The Beatles chose to leave the song as is, and "She Loves You" ended up being the song to lead them to international success. Watch the School of Rock AllStars cover of "She Loves You".
