On Jan 23 and Jan 30, the Ailanga school and Seattle churches of the Ailanga School Project had prayer services supporting the partnership. It included the Ailanga headmaster saying the Lord's Prayer in Kisawhili.

Masks to support Ailanga School Project
The Ailanga School Project is pleased to offer beautiful masks from Tanzanian fabric! If you’d like a few of these for yourself, friends, and family, please email contact MLLC member Darrick M. Masks ordered will be sent in a variety of fabric (may differ from photo). All the patterns are beautiful. They are all gorgeous! Suggested donation of $20 per mask. Masks are being sewed locally by congregations in Seattle.

Wonderfully busy morning at Maple Leaf Lutheran Church. Sunday school kids made hand/feet prints, Ailanga School Project presentation by Randy & Ron , potluck and Congregational meeting. God's spirit is alive and well!

Last night some members of Maple Leaf Lutheran Church joined folks from other local Lutheran congregation for a Ailanga School Project fundraising dinner. Also picture here is a beautiful gift from the school's headmaster, retired Bishop of the Meru diocese and his wife. Such a wonderful partnership.

We had a video call between Seattle ASP students and Ailanga students on March 15. Much of the discussion, as requested by the Ailanga students, was how countries were handling the COVID pandemic. This included the effects on schools (Ailanga classes are in person whereas most Seattle schools are on-line), testing, masks, and vaccines. We are hoping to have another call sometime in May.

Ailanga Dinner Tickets
We are starting sales for our big Ailanga Dinner, which will be on March 4 at Faith Lutheran Church. This is our biggest fundraiser for the school. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket (or two), please fill out the form below and a delegate will get in touch with you! This form is more intended for outside members of the community -- if you attend one of our partner churches, look for a delegate who will be selling tickets in person over the next month! If you can't attend the dinner but would like to donate to the Ailanga School Project, fill out the form below and just indicate that you don't want to purchase tickets.

We recently received an update from Lydia, the headmistress at Ailanga, and are thrilled to see that the lab is being put to good use!
"Last year the Contractor worked so hard to keep his promise so that Biology lab would be used for the National Exams and I am happy to report that he made it possible and the tables were ready, gas and water installations were done just a few days before the exams began."
