Summer well spent!! Ended our summer camp with a sweet trip down the memory lane teaching kids about what we did in summers when we were kids, our culture, our beautiful diverse country, shlokas and meditation, our food, festivals..... Hamari Sanskriti!!
Traveling across the globe is on the agenda these days, past few weeks were spent exploring the continents Africa and Europe :) learning about the beautiful countries, their culture, languages, amazing monuments and a lot more!!! Enjoy the pics :)
Our space exploration was right in time with the spacecraft Juno entering Jupiter's orbit :) perfect timing!! All in the stars!!
When we started Ooodan we knew we are gonna make stories, stories that we will cherish forever.
This week we learned and explored the world of sea creatures. But along with this there was something very special that happened,we witnessed something very special and want to share it with you all. It was raining that day and we all together went to visit our birds nest where a family of American Robin birds lived - Mom,Dad and the baby birds who seem to be learning to fly.
Somehow this time when they saw us they got scared:((. They jumped out of the nest trying to fly but could not..and just started walking towards the road. There were 3 baby birds, one of them went to our neighbours backyard and two of them crossed the road, we followed them to make sure none of the cars go over them. We also tried to follow and bring them to their nest. However after following them for some more time we realized we were not really helping them but making their parents anxious...so we came back and asked the kids what they think would have happened - What is their story? Amaani said - Someone took care of them, they found a new home and will live happily ever after. Hamsa said they will learn to fly and will be safe. Pranav said a car might have gone over them:((
Our nest is now empty but we sure pray that the baby birds are safe, we although were amazed at the sensitivity and emotions kids showed.
Looking forward to make many more such stories...
This week we dived into the seas and oceans to take a closer look at the marine life, fun facts, art and craft, games... bringing our big big diorama all together :) and ending the week with a field trip to Adventurous Aquarium and Petland.
Past week went by too fast, that we forgot to post anything on our page. Learning and exploring, creating and having fun with "Engineering" as the theme of the week the days rolled by quickly. The week was very fulfilling as a caretaker and also as a mom. It feels so rewarding to see the kids excited to come back to day care and excited about the activities planned for the day, and sometimes helping them dealing with frustration of not liking few things but still giving it a try. As a SAHM before and staying at home all day with kids was sometimes not as productive as spending time with them at the day care. At home there was always so much to do, run errands, finishing up stuff, laundry and the list goes on. But at the day care we are all for them all the time understanding them, their needs and their interests and sometimes seeing them struggling with handling situations while playing in a group. All and all a very interesting week with a lot to learn on our end too :)
Day went by exploring about Birds, played games, made bird houses, also made bird nest dessert with chocolate and pretzels and rice cereals (which was the favorite part of the day :)) Summer time, we are loving it!!
