Amen, and Glory be to the Great redeemer

Bethel Baptist Church of Schaumburg exists to make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ for the glory of God through Loving, Growing, Building, & Reaching.

The Facebook Ministry of Bethel Baptist Church of Schaumburg is just that; a safe place for those that desire to know more about or encourage one another in Bethel's activities in the Schaumburg community and beyond - in short, a place for members of the visible Body of Jesus Christ to minister to one another and to the reachable community. Missionaries, friends of the ministry, and active members are encouraged to participate and comment in ways that are unifying, edifying, and honest. In times of conflict or disagreement, Bethel Baptist Church asks that we would remember Christ and His manner. Heb 10:24 "let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works" Phil 2:3-4 "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." Ephesians 4:29-32 "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." Proverbs 18 6 A fool’s lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating. 7 A fool’s mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to his soul. 8 The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels;they go down into the inner parts of the body. 12 Before destruction a man’s heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor. 13 If one gives an answer before he hears,it is his folly and shame. 17 The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him. 19 A brother offended is more unyielding than a strong city, and quarreling is like the bars of a castle. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. Bethel Baptist Church reserves the right to edit or remove posts that are found to be unduly divisive or inflammatory. Likewise, if a benign post becomes a target for excessive negative rhetoric, Bethel Baptist Church reserves the right to remove the post in part or in its entirety. Welcome to our page - our prayer is that you would be challenged, encouraged, and spiritually blessed through this portion of Bethel's ongoing ministry.

“Peacemakers are people who breathe grace. They draw continually on the goodness and power of Jesus Christ, and then they bring his love, mercy, forgiveness, strength, and wisdom to the conflicts of daily life. God delights to breathe his grace through peacemakers and use them to dissipate anger, improve understanding, promote justice, and encourage repentance and reconciliation.”

5 Ways to Disciple Your Teen While in Quarantine

"You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today.

Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up."

- Deuteronomy 6:5-7 (NLT) Help them see that, in the midst of all these losses, deep joy is available.

The resurrection is THE event in the life of Jesus Christ! It's why the church has always gathered on Sunday--to commemorate and celebrate the fact that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead, just as He said!

Our Sunday Morning livestream will begin at 10:25 am with an announcement slideshow. At 10:30, we will be replaying the choir and congregational music from last year's Easter service at Bethel (approximately 20 minutes). Thanks to Pastor Mayer, Katie Vanderkooi, and Richard Campbell for making the rebroadcast available in edited form.

Our Scripture text on Sunday morning will be Luke 24:1-12, Luke's account of Jesus' resurrection.

Blessings to you as you prepare for Easter Sunday morning!

Rejoicing With You in the Life and Hope of the Risen King,

Pastor Ken

Good Friday leads to a Silent Saturday. All who followed Jesus weep over what they saw and heard yesterday. But God will bring unstoppable joy in the morning!

Conqueror Nation

Thanks to Kyle McVey and Pastor David and Nikki Toth for taking the time to prepare this time of worship for the students of SCS - and so many others! Without Good Friday there would be no Resurrection Sunday.

Sing along with us:

"When I Survey the Wondrous Cross" (min 4:50)

"Turn Your Eyes" (min 6:30)

"O Praise the Name (Anastasis)" (min 11:50)

"Hallelujah for the Cross" (min 15:30)

"Living Hope" (min 19:20)

"Man of Sorrows" (min 23:20)

Today is Good Friday. Yesterday would have been our 6th-12th grade Easter Praise Chapel. Since we aren't able to meet we recorded the songs so that our students, staff, and others could sing along and be encouraged by the truth! We focus on Jesus on the cross and His resurrection! We hope it is an encouragement to you during this weekend of Good Friday and Easter!
"Whom the Son sets free oh is free indeed!"

Holy Week: Maundy Thursday: April 2, AD 33

Today is Maundy Thursday.

"Maundy" comes from the Latin word mandatum, from which we get our word mandate. In the late-fourth-century Bible edition, the Vulgate, Jerome used this word in translating Jesus’s love command.

During a Passover meal with his disciples in an upper room in Jerusalem, Jesus had told them, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another” (John 13:34).

We can celebrate this Holy Week by following Christ as our Savior and Substitute in loving one another. Today is Maundy Thursday. During a Passover meal with his disciples in an upper room in Jerusalem, Jesus had told them, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another” (John 13:34). (The word “maundy” comes from the Lat...

During this pandemic, our church's YouTube channel has experienced a dramatic increase in viewership. Between six and seven hundred unique viewers have accessed our online Sunday teaching. People seem attracted to the Message of Hope.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is just that, and we have the opportunity to share that Message! If you post a video describing how Christ's resurrection gives you Hope, feel free to hashtag it with: #[email protected] and tag our church's page.

During times of crisis and uncertainty, we often see more conflict, disagreements, and difficulties. Churches, families, workplaces, and neighborhoods all experience this conflict.

In this Live Zoom Webinar, The Biblical Center counselors Dr. Donna Hart, Dr. Tim Allchin and our own Pastor Brandon Lowery will be sharing keys to conquering conflict and pursuing peace.

Tomorrow, Tuesday at 12pm.

What in the World is God (NOT) Doing? Ken Fields, Habakkuk 1:1-4

Pastor Ken leads a study on Habakkuk's first complaint to God in Habakkuk 1:1-4: "Why don't you care?" Wouldn't it be helpful to always know why God does what He does? He will discuss the answers to Habakkuk's questions and how his questions apply to our own circumstances.

Study on Habakkuk's first complaint to God in Habakkuk 1:1-4: "Why don't you care?" Wouldn't it be helpful to always know why God does what He does? We will ...

"Our private and public prayer are our chief expression of our relation to God: it is in them chiefly that our waiting upon God must be exercised."

This season of confinement will bring each of us to a point of asking questions and feeling frustration. You can take those questions and thoughts to God in prayer. He hears. He cares.

If you are a praying person you can encourage others to pray with you. Maybe you've never really been a praying person. If that's you, this is a great opportunity to learn a valuable spiritual discipline.
