Amen, and Glory be to the Great redeemer
I am praying for you, brothers and sisters, that God's grace and mercy would be known in wide measure, with the result that The congregation of Bethel might know greater love and unity in Christ and His truth. May God give wisdom and unity of purpose and direction for His glory. Much love is sent your way from Cambodia!

Greetings, Brothers and Sisters of Bethel Baptist! We received a request from a supporting church to send a video update, so we made one today. We wanted to share these praises and prayer requests with you as well.

Bethel Baptist Church of Schaumburg exists to make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ for the glory of God through Loving, Growing, Building, & Reaching.

The Facebook Ministry of Bethel Baptist Church of Schaumburg is just that; a safe place for those that desire to know more about or encourage one another in Bethel's activities in the Schaumburg community and beyond - in short, a place for members of the visible Body of Jesus Christ to minister to one another and to the reachable community. Missionaries, friends of the ministry, and active members are encouraged to participate and comment in ways that are unifying, edifying, and honest. In times of conflict or disagreement, Bethel Baptist Church asks that we would remember Christ and His manner. Heb 10:24 "let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works" Phil 2:3-4 "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." Ephesians 4:29-32 "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." Proverbs 18 6 A fool’s lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating. 7 A fool’s mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to his soul. 8 The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels;they go down into the inner parts of the body. 12 Before destruction a man’s heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor. 13 If one gives an answer before he hears,it is his folly and shame. 17 The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him. 19 A brother offended is more unyielding than a strong city, and quarreling is like the bars of a castle. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. Bethel Baptist Church reserves the right to edit or remove posts that are found to be unduly divisive or inflammatory. Likewise, if a benign post becomes a target for excessive negative rhetoric, Bethel Baptist Church reserves the right to remove the post in part or in its entirety. Welcome to our page - our prayer is that you would be challenged, encouraged, and spiritually blessed through this portion of Bethel's ongoing ministry.

A Prayer for Valentine's Day

"Your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you." Psalm 63:3

On this Valentine's Day we are thankful for the committed love and connection we see in our Bethel family! We are a people broken but finding healing and satisfaction in God. This satisfaction sets us free to be glad givers of grace, not selfish takers.

So, to our Bethel family, thank you for the Christian satisfaction you show through the lovingkindness toward your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Here is a short article that celebrates the satisfaction we have in Christ. This satisfaction shows itself in the way we can lovingly give to others.

“We’re convinced that one of the most important spiritual disciplines for us to recover in the kind of world in which we live is the discipline of table fellowship.

In the fast-paced, tech-saturated, attention-deficit-disordered culture in which we find ourselves, Christians need to recover the art of a slow meal around a table with people we care about.”

BBC’s leadership shares in table fellowship every month - sharing stories, growing closer, and making memories.

Student Ministries! This Sunday Night!

"It is difficult for me to put into words what it meant to be gathered with these men who have spoken so clearly into my life. I don’t know when or even if that group will be together again — at least in the church I serve. But their presence reminded me of God’s incredible faithfulness."

This is the "why" of an Installation Service.

Sunday, February 2, we will reflect on and celebrate God's faithfulness. Guests will come to witness this important date and the church family will consider God's leading as we celebrate Ken's installation. All are invited and we are excited to share this time together as brothers and sisters in Christ celebrating God's bringing us all together.

Here's the basic schedule:

9:30 AM - Fellowship in the Foyer
BBC will supply all the donuts and coffee for the fellowship - you just bring yourself and enjoy the time getting to know Pastor Ken and his family.

10:30 AM - AM Worship Service
Pastor Robert Fields, Ken's dad, will be our welcomed and special guest speaker for the Morning Worship Service.

12:00 PM - Lunch in Fellowship Center
All are invited to join to share a meal with the church family.
To help with the lunch, if your last name begins with A – L, bring a salad or side dish. If your last name begins with M – Z, bring a dessert. Disposable pans are available at the Info Desk today. A $2/person or $5/family donation is suggested to cover the cost of the main dish.

1:00 PM - Afternoon Service in Chapel with Pastor Ken.
Pastor Ken will be sharing his heart for Bethel’s future in the comfort of the more intimate setting of the Chapel at Bethel.

There will not be an Evening Service.

Pastor Ken will be preaching this Sunday! We'll consider how relational, Jesus-glorifying ministry can result in spiritual progress and radical joy for God's people.

In preparation, read through Philippians a time or two looking for the themes of relationship, joy, and Jesus's glory.

It takes about 15 minutes to read Philippians - here's a fun link that shows the time it takes to read each book in the Bible. https://jamedders.com/how-long-does-it-take-to-read-each-book-of-the-bible/

God has been so good to Bethel in 2019!

We are praying you all have a safe and joyful New Year celebration, and we’re looking forward to seeing what God has in store for 2020!

It was a great last service of 2019 at Bethel this morning! Celebrating the promise of God’s power and a church wide fellowship with local Krispy Kreme donuts!

Thank you, Bethel Family and Friends, for your faithfulness and service this year! May God bless you all - See you in 2020!

Tomorrow morning, we will have a time of Church-wide Fellowship from 9:30-10:15am. This Building opportunity will allow ABF and SS teachers and their families to get to know new members and long time members who may not cross paths often enough.

There will be no nursery during this time - all are invited to fellowship together.

People are encouraged to bring in breakfast snacks as normal and there will be donuts supplied to be sure there is enough for everyone. We look forward to building loving relationships through this fellowship time.

BUILDING – SPIRITUALLY EDIFYING ONE ANOTHER THROUGH TRUE FELLOWSHIP
We seek to encourage accountable relationships through fellowship (Heb 10:24-25; 2 Cor 13:5). We do this to build a community of faith where believers are protected and edified through loving relationships.

We're back in Ephesians this Sunday! Tomorrow we'll be encouraged by the awesome power of God that is available - right now - to those who believe!

Power to change, the power to start a new habit, the power to speak boldly, and the power to be patient are already present in the believer, even when we feel distant and discouraged.

Join us at 10:30am tomorrow.

Merry Christmas, Bethel Family and Friends!

Creative Ways to Use Tracts This Christmas

"As Christians, it provides a unique opportunity to initiate gospel-shining conversations with friends, family, and strangers alike. Short gospel tracts are a great way to succinctly present the true story of Christmas to a world longing for deep and enduring peace."

We love offering free tracts to our church family! We have Christmas tracts available at all three tract racks at Bethel. Here's a quick article to remind you how you can creatively use tracts this Christmas season.

Dads and daughters on a Sunday afternoon after church!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Christianity Today

Let us pray for the Church during this season of Advent.

“We would like Christians aroud the world to join us in prayer,” said Yé. “There is no need for the church in Burkina Faso to be fearful; no need to be angry nor to complain.

“Just pray that the Lord, the Prince of Peace, rescues Burkina Faso from terrorism—from threat and fear,” he said. “The Lord will give us victory over those who oppress us.”

A tragic start to Advent for Christians in Burkina Faso.

Half of an SIM-affiliated congregation died in Sunday's terrorist attack, including youth ages 14, 12, and 10, according to an evangelical leader of the West African nation.

“Just pray that the Lord, the Prince of Peace, rescues Burkina Faso from terrorism—from threat and fear,” Henri Yé, president of the Federation of Evangelical Churches and Missions in Burkina Faso, told CT.

“The Lord will give us victory over those who oppress us.”
