Rainwater harvesting helps conserve San Diego’s natural resources, prevent pollution, and save money by providing free water for use in gardens and landscapes. Just 1” of rain yields 600 gallons per 1000 sq. ft. of roof space. That's a lot of free, fresh water for San Diegans to capture and help their plants thrive!
is providing Unincorporated County residents a rain barrel for as low as $25. All residents are eligible for the $35 rain barrel rebate from the Metropolitan Water District’s SoCal WaterSmart program allowing them to pay just $55 per rain barrel on up to 2 rain barrels per household.
Solana Center is hosting rain barrel pick-up events in Bonita (order deadline 1/24), Lakeside (order deadline 1/31), and their Encinitas location. Order yours today at solanacenter.org/rain-barrels.
