Students can now apply to the Colgate in Focus (CIF) on-campus program held Oct. 2–3 and Oct. 23–24, 2022.

The CIF program is intended for high school seniors identifying as low-income, first-generation, or other historically excluded backgrounds, who have overcome unique and personal or structural challenges in their journey to pursue post-secondary education.

The application deadline is Aug. 12.

The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective scholarship for outstanding, minority, high school seniors from low-income households.

Each year, the scholarship is awarded to exceptional student leaders, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential.

The Jacobs Institute of Innovation in Education is planning an exciting experience for middle and high school students from the San Diego Unified School District called the ImPactful Teen Innovation Sandbox! The Sandbox will run Monday- Friday from August 18th to the 26th from 10 AM - 5:00 PM, with limited space available for registration.

This summer camp experience combines design thinking, UN Sustainable Development Goals learning, and podcast production to promote civic engagement and create local impact within their communities. Students work in teams to identify a local issue and then use design thinking for prototyping their solution and pitching it to a broader audience. Additionally, students interview civic leaders and produce a podcast to learn about social issues specific to the San Diego community while gaining digital and storytelling communication skills to help inform and engage others. Listen to the podcast episodes that students like you created during season 1!
