🌟 Alumni Spotlight: Arleth Navarro - ENLACE 2024 🌟

We are thrilled to share the heartfelt words of one of our inspiring ENLACE alumni, Arleth Navarro.
"I’m Arleth Navarro, and I was an ENLACE 2024 student. I’m writing this to personally thank you for the opportunity to have had the best summer of my life, both academically and, above all, in terms of friendship. I say this because when ENLACE 2024 ended, I felt very sad and nostalgic.
The program changed me in so many different ways, I was a different person now, a better person. But returning to Mexico City without all of the lovely friends I made over the summer ... ouch, that really hurt. I thought I would never see them again. I had become so used to seeing their faces every single day. With them, I saw what it truly means to have real friends, friends who support you, love you, and care about you. They mean everything to me. I’ve processed everything now, and I’ve learned how to apply the knowledge UCSD gave me and integrate it into my life here in Mexico City.
I remember that at UCSD, my friends and I would always joke about reuniting on my birthday. It was kind of a fanciful thought. But recently, I turned 22 in December, and I had the chance to see most of my friends again. You can’t imagine how much joy it filled my heart. Now I understand what you meant about making long-lasting friends in the program. I can see myself having breakfast with them and meeting up at 50 years old, catching up, seeing that we all have a successful life and having a laugh.
Thank you, thank you so much, because without all your effort in making this program work, I would have never met them, and they are one of the reasons I’m so happy."
