The program hires special education staff so even those with children special needs will feel supported. Translation is available in Spanish, Arabic and Somali to welcome all families. As the number one indicator of student success is parent involvement, the goal is to engage parents in their student's learning.
Please consider coming to our big kick off tomorrow night. Crafts and fun for ALL kids while parents learn.
Special thanks to Kelly Young and Kathleen Baxter for their dedication to this valuable program!.

We would like to remind everyone to keep those canned goods coming!! Mrs. Birch and her students will collect for three more weeks!
On Monday, we begin our annual Emily Palmeter Memorial Toy Drive. Our drive benefits the San Diego Regional Center (which serves many of our students with disabilities) and the San Diego Unified Youth in Transition Program ( which serves the over 3000 homeless SDUSD students, foster students and military families). We would greatly appreciate developmental toys, simple toys that do not require batteries, board games and books.
Teens are always the most challenging to provide for. Books for teens, team t shirts and jerseys in adult sizes small to xl, and sports equipment like soccer balls, adult sized baseball gloves and balls, and footballs are greatly appreciated.
Personal item gift packs of shampoo, body wash, cologne and moisturizer, etc. are also in need.
Kids are our focus, but the Regional Center also serves their parents, so any doubles of adult gifts such as tools, cooking items, etc that you may have could also fill a need.
Gift cards are always a good bet.
Many of us remember the sad craft fair morning when parents rallied to support a family in their loss. For many of us, this drive is a celebration of how Lindbergh Schweitzer families love each other and come together in a time of need. Please keep this feeling alive.
[11/15/15] Reminder that this week Monday is our only full day and Tuesday through Friday are short day Wednesday schedules for parent teacher conferences. The week following, school will be closed for Thanksgiving!
