-Meet one of the following: low-income, first-generation college or first generation to study in a STEM major students
-Undergraduate students who are U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or California resident AB540
-Good academic standing at SDSU declared in a STEM major

An exceptional opportunity for students and postdocs to participate in the upcoming BioPACIFIC MIP Summer School, hosted at UCSB and UCLA from July 15th-19th, 2024.
BioPACIFIC MIP (biopacificmip.org), is an NSF User Facility, based at UCSB and UCLA dedicated to materials discovery through lab automation and bio-derived feedstocks.
BioPACIFIC MIP facilities provide access to unique instrumentation and expert support, and they are FREE for all US-based researchers via a peer-reviewed User Proposal process.
The BioPACIFIC MIP Summer School offers participants the chance to:
gain hands-on training to state-of-the-art facilities with high-throughput capabilities
drive new collaboration with faculty across UCLA and UCSB campuses
get exposure on BioPACIFIC MIP’s capabilities and expertise and learn how to gain free access to the facilities and promote their research
Room and board are covered for all attendees. Additional financial aid is available to participants from non-R1 institutions to further offset costs for travel to BioPACIFIC MIP.
