Today, NTID/RIT (National Technical Institute for the Deaf/Rochester Institute of Technology) & Gallaudet University Admissions Counselors came to speak to our Deaf/HH students about college and all the opportunities that lie ahead for them. 🎊 Congratulations to Courtney Swoboda!
Courtney Swoboda is a special education teacher at Dr. Mildred Dalton Henry Elementary School. Courtney was originally drawn to teaching while completing her BA in psychology, where she chose to intern alongside a teacher. During that time, she fell in love with helping children. “As a teacher, everything we do is to consistently and effectively serve our scholars.” Courtney knows what capabilities her scholars have, and she’s helping them realize their full potential. “SBCUSD is a family, and we all work together to help our scholars.” Courtney is also focusing on continuing to help raise the standard of education. “We live in a community that cares about our school system and they understand the importance of investing in our future.” Courtney is by establishing a sensory room to serve her scholars more effectively.
