Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, otherwise known as RYLA, is a leadership assembly for high school juniors. District 5840 is unique in the fact that we invite a select group of rylarians every year to return their senior year as TLs. These TLs organize, plan, and run the entire camp. RYLA is designed to improve various skill sets like communication, leadership, and teamwork. RYLA is incredibly beneficial for all participants. Many students break out of their shells, become more confident, and live up to their complete potential as leaders. This is a picture of District 5840's 2015 TLs! WE LOVE RYLA!!
We are incredibly excited to have Rotary International President Gary Huang come to the Winston School San Antonio on Monday!!
The President of Rotary International Gary C.K. Huang, is coming to visit D5840 in January 2015. He will arrive Sunday, January 11, 2015. Monday, January 12, 2015 will be “Rotary Day” in San Antonio, with several opportunities to meet President Gary and his wife, Corrina, at District Rotary Day activities which are posted on rotary5840.org website. It is very rare to have a President of Rotary International to visit, and we are privileged to have him “Light Up Rotary” in our area, even for a short time. All Clubs are encouraged to attend the Rotary Day events and bring guests. Let’s show President Gary Huang and Corrina a warm, South Texas welcome!

The Winston Interact Club gathered with people from all over the community to give back this holiday season. Wrapping with Jack was a wonderful way to get us into the holiday spirit! On behalf of the Winston School San Antonio Interact Club, I would like to wish everyone a very safe and merry Christmas! 🎄🎅
Young men and women from around the district celebrated "Light Up Rotary" at District 5840's 5th annual Interact Conference. It is incredible to see so many teenagers give up so much of their time to give back to their community. The world definitely needs more Interactors! #district5840
Our Interactors celebrated World Interact Celebration Week with some of our friends from the Boerne Sunrise Rotary Club and the San Antonio North Central Rotary Club. We appreciate everything that these two clubs have done for us over the years. Their support means
the world to our club. Without them, we would not be able to pursue our love for giving back to the community.
Our Interactors did a great job helping out with the Inclusion Walk at Morgan's Wonderland this morning!
Our boys did a fantastic job at the Harmony Hills Festival yesterday!
Elizabeth's Eagles did a fantastic job today at the Buddy Walk!
The Buddy Walk is September 27, 2014. For those of you who are unaware of why we participate in the Buddy Walk every year, let me tell you what this incredible event is about. Every year, the Buddy Walk is held at Hero Stadium in San Antonio, Texas. The Buddy Walk honors and supports people with Down Syndrome. This year, the Winston School San Antonio Interact Club is sponsoring Elizabeth Herring, the same young lady that we sponsored two years ago. Elizabeth is a beautiful, bright, and happy girl. Unfortunately, she was born with Down Syndrome. So this Saturday, our club will be walking with Elizabeth. We can't wait to cheer her on as we cross the finish line with her.
Great day at The Bibliotech One Year Anniversary Celebration! Thank you to all of the interacters who helped out today
