Ironman Texas 70.3 in Galveston looks like a go. It may have been a while since you’ve practiced some race-specific intensity in your swim training.
Here’s a swim set we did with our swim group last week.
We added a bit of “spice” to the steady swim by having our athletes do a “deck-up” forcing them to get out of the pool every 50, walk around the blocks, and hop back in. Thanks @tower_26 for the idea on this one!

🎽 Emi Nix went for a SOLO half marathon PR and didn’t quite hit her goal but did take down a new 10K PR 🥵!
🚵 Jason McIntyre rode his mountain bike for a long time. 6 hours in fact with 4100 feet of climbing. That’s a lot of vert and a lot of dirt 🪨!
🚴♂️ 🚴♀️ Carlos Torres, Lexa Rijos, David Lam, Renee Patlan, Beatriz Salvat, and Augustine Salvat raced the Zimmerhanzel Express Gravel race. It was fast, furious, and plenty of fun.
👟 Diana Ruderman and Raul Correa raced the Natural Bridge Caverns 10k. Raul was feeling so good that he tacked on a couple of extra miles for good measure 🤪. Diana felt so good that she went ahead and WON the women’s overall 🥇!
🏃♂️Alfonso Campa pr’d his half marathon at the San Marcos 13.1, while also taking home first in AG. Jacob Campa secured FIRST place in the 5k!
