Highlands HS PTSA will be hosting an auction to sell these beautiful handcrafted owl and guitar. These amazing masterpieces are created and donated by our PTSA member, Mr. Stephen Wurgler's father and brother. Mr. Wurgler's father has been awarded 1st place in the national carving competition.
All the proceeds will be used for school, students, and teachers.
Time and location will be determined and announced.

Congratulations to the football teams at Sam Houston, Highlands and Burbank! All three qualified for the UIL state playoffs by winning their final regular season games last weekend. Tickets are now on sale for the bi-district games. Sam Houston, 6-4, will visit Rosenberg Terry, 4-4, Friday at 7 p.m. Highlands, 7-3, will host Angleton, 9-0, at Alamo Stadium Friday at 7:30 p.m. Burbank, 5-5, will meet Richmond Foster, 6-3, at Alamo Stadium Saturday at 1 p.m. It’s the Hurricanes, Owls and Bulldogs representing SAISD!
Exciting news for one of the magnet programs, Ms. Garcia, Magnet Coordinator, has won a grant from the 3M Robotics Innovation Challenge in the amount of $10,000.00! Congratulations to Ms. Garcia and her students! This is a perfect example of the wonderful things taking place at Highlands HS! Thank you Ms. Garcia for all you do for the students at Highlands!

Alamo Stadium was rocking last night when Highlands outlasted Jefferson in a key district football game 38-15. Tonight the district games will continue when Sam Houston faces Lanier at Alamo Stadium and Edison meets Burbank at the Sports Complex. Both games kickoff at 7:30 p.m. Go SAISD!

Highlands HS senior Sarah Wilson, who is ranked No. 1 in her class, participated in the Tapia Top 3 camp at Rice University July 23-29. The camp, open to students ranked in the top three of their class, delved into a study of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
“It’s great to be around people who put things in different perspectives than you,” Wilson said. “The way I was seeing something, they were seeing it differently and we added it all together, and put it together in a beautiful oral presentation.”

Congratulations to the Highlands HS baseball team for winning the Class 5A Bi-District championship! The Owls knocked off Lamar Consolidated Mustangs in two games 10-0 and 5-2. Highlands, 20-6, will now host Boerne Champion, 21-8, in a one-game Area round state contest Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the SAISD Sports Complex. Go Highlands! Go SAISD!
