The Culinary Institute of America opened its third location in San Antonio in 2008. Over 10 years later, the institute remains an integral part of Pearl and the city’s evolving culinary landscape. Meet Malvika Gaba, a student in the CIA’s Baking and Pastry degree program. Originally from India, Gaba believes studying amongst Pearl’s culinary culture inspires her to think outside the box. This aspiring pastry chef enjoys the Pearl’s weekend Farmers Markets and can’t wait to join the growing ranks of standout female chefs in the industry.
