We are an immunology lab at UTHSCSA The Antibody Lab is a close-knit research group at UTHSCSA that studies the process of antibody maturation in B cells and its involvement in autoimmune disease.
The Antibody Lab members include our mentor, Paolo Casali, associate professors, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and undergraduates. The Antibody Lab is part of the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at UTHSCSA.

[01/17/13] We would like to congratulate our undergraduate students Sophia Lam and Daniel Tran for their recent achievements. Both Sophia and Daniel were appointed as Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) Fellows at UCI for the 2012-2013 academic year for their research projects. Under the guidance of Professor Paolo Casali and graduate student Tonika Lam, Sophia received this appointment for her project titled "Induction of Autophagy in B Cells by CD40, BCR and TLR Signaling." Under the guidance of Professor Paolo Casali and Dr. Guideng Li, Daniel received this appointment for his project titled "AID-Dependent Recruitment of ATF2 to Switch Region Mediates Double-Strand Break Repairs in Class Switch Recombination."

[09/24/12] Please join us in congratulating Casali lab student Clayton White again for his second year of support by the NIH T32 Immunology Research Training Program for the 2012-2013 academic year. Clayton will receive support for his research and conference travel while participating in this selective program at UCI.
[11/22/11] PhD student Clayton White in the Casali lab received second place for his talk titled "The translesion DNA synthesis polymerase Rev1 recruits Ung for immunoglobulin class switch DNA recombination" at the 9th Annual Immunology Fair at UCI.

[10/28/11] Swedish masters student Isabella Stenmark has made the long journey from Gothenburg, Sweden to join the Casali lab until the new year. She is excited to perform cutting-edge research and in her free time enjoys photography, traveling, and aeronautics! Welcome Isabella!
[05/11/11] Congratulations to John Sakakura, who has been designated by the Dean of the School of Medicine, and Professor Diana Krause, Member of the UROP Faculty Advisory Board, to receive the 2011 Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research.
