In loving memory of brother Cohen.
He will be greatly missed here.

Psalm 139:14-15 (NIV)

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

this verse came to mind during the shabbat message today.
If anyone has any Etrog remaining from Sukkot, I would appreciate them for a project!

In todays suggested reading of this weeks Parsha, we see Korach’s rebellion coming to it’s end. Moshe pleads with HaShem not to swallow up the whole congregation for the sins of one man among them, and HaShem shows mercy to the congregation and only swallows up Korach, and all that was his. The whole congregation is consumed by fear at the sight of the earth opening to swallow not just a man and his possessions, but the rebellion that lived in their hearts. However, the very next day, the people still come against Moshe and Aaron, learning nothing from the tragedy of Korach’s fate. This story teaches us how contagious and stubborn rebellion can be in the hearts of people. Our duty as mishpacha is to protect our hearts from this, and to do our best to keep this from coming into the congregation that HaShem has planted us in. Together we are stronger.
Blessings and shalom to everyone.

As we prepare to enter into Shabbat, let’s all begin to strip away the worries of the week and focus our attention on HaShem and the things He has given us to be thankful for. For any new Shabbat keepers, here is the blessing for the candle lighting.
Shabbat Shalom Mishpacha!

Todays suggested reading from this week’s parsha shares with us how patient HaShem is with us. HaShem gave Israel signs and wonders, and for some it still was not enough, but for the ones who held on to their faith and obedience, He poured out His chesed upon them. Let us all carry this lesson into the rest of this week. Blessings and shalom to everyone.

[02/25/21]   We at Baruch Eloheinu are sorry to inform you that, due to expected weather and our being outdoors, and in order to do what is best and wisest for everyone, we will not be meeting in person for our Purim party this year.
We invite you instead to join us tomorrow, February 25th, at 6:00pm for a facebook room meeting in which we will celebrate and discuss the festival of Purim together.

On Purim, we reflect on the power, love, and faithfulness of G-d to deliver His people to victory, even in seemingly impossible circumstances, and even if only through a single act of obedience. In the story of Purim, we see that even when the name of G-d is not clearly evident, the hand of G-d always is; He knows our circumstances, however uncertain they may be, and remains ever present in our lives to help and deliver us, just as in the times of Queen Hadassah (Esther).

Baruch Eloheinu invites you to join us in celebrating Simchat Torah this Sunday, October 11th at 7:30pm as we continue to rejoice in the feasts of G-d together!

“Then Moshe commanded them saying, “At the end of every seven years, in the set time of the year of cancelling debts, during the feast of Sukkot, when all Israel comes to appear before ADONAI your G-d in the place He chooses, you are to read this Torah before them in their hearing. Gather the people—the men and women and little ones, and the outsider within your town gates—so they may hear and so they may learn, and they will fear ADONAI your G-d and take care to do all the words of this Torah. So their children, who have not known, will hear and learn to fear ADONAI your G-d— all the days you live on the land you are about to cross over the Jordan to possess.””
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:10-13‬ ‭

“Our Nation’s darkest hour was pierced by candlelight, our anguish was met with prayer, and our grief was met with unity. Like so many times before in our country’s history, we sought peace and strength through faith… we pray for the families of all those who were lost and honor the courageous heroes who came through for our Nation when we needed them most. Together, as one Nation under G-d, we renew our vow to never forget. We cherish each other as fellow Americans and look proudly to our flag — an unwavering reminder of freedom’s triumph over fear. And, above all, we thank G-d for the strength and courage He has provided us, and take heart that our beloved departed now rest in His loving embrace.”
— President Trump, Presidential Proclamation regarding 9/11

We encourage you to pray with us for the families of the lost, for those who heroically risked their lives for their community in that day, and for our nation today. May we always remember.

Ari Lesser - The King is in the Field

As we’ve begun the month of Elul, the month of preparation for the upcoming High Holy Days, let us reflect inward with a heart of teshuvah (repentance). This month, we slow down and partake in cheshbon hanefesh (“accounting of the soul”); we take stock of our lives — our hearts, minds, and deeds — in preparation for the coming Days of Awe (Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur). We work to resolve and improve our wrongdoings and shortcomings, and mend any areas of disharmony in our lives, relationships, and communities.

It is customary to blow the shofar each weekday morning, as well as to recite Psalm 27 each day of this month.
In this time, it is believed that Elohim our King is “in the field” among us, looking closely on His servants, and accessible to all of us equally.
Now, in this month of Elul, we are to make our petitions known — don't wait until our fate is sealed.
In between these Moedim of Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur, He writes His plan for the upcoming year: whose name will be written in the book of life, and whose will not. Make your voices heard, blow your shofar each morning, do teshuvah, seek forgiveness, amend wrongdoings. The King is in the field.
