Did you know that research shows that high cortisol levels are closely linked to an increase in belly fat? Our cortisol levels are the highest 30 minutes after we wake up in the morning and should start to decrease after 3 pm. However, this is not the case for all of us, especially type A personalities and high achievers...true story unfortunately.

There are things we can do, however, to lower our cortisol levels like meditation and yoga, deep breathing exercises, regular undisturbed sleep, a power nap during the day, just to name a few...and certain herb adaptogens that keep hormones like adrenaline , cortisol, and the endocrine system balanced are vital for reducing belly fat.

I’ve always been a runner, in fact, a sprinter, when it comes to dealing with HARD and especially anything dealing with my emotions and vulnerability. Can anyone relate?
Oh here comes vulnerability...see ya 💥bam I’m outa here 💥

Someone in my life once said to me, a zebra doesn’t change its stripes, you’ll always be a runner. 😡
This is not true and don’t let anyone tell you that you’ll never change. We can change if we are aware of our character defects and we all have them.

The first step is seeing the patterns that aren’t serving us well. The second step is hard because it involves feeling 😫
We must recognize the emotion causing the disfunction and actually feel it.
We can “ run” from healing in so many different ways: keeping ourself so busy that we don’t have time to deal with the pain, pushing people out of our life that are there to help us with our healing, addictions that put a temporary band-aid on our emotions, whether through chemicals, food, etc.

.
Step three is trusting one “safe” person with this area of healing and allowing them in a loving snd non-judgemental way hold us accountable. This is part of our growth and it’s vulnerable and necessary @bdanelsonfashiongroup ❤️

My mantra for today: Even though I want to run from certain situations out of fear, I completely and wholeheartedly love myself enough to stop the cycle and I’m getting stronger every day as I trust the courage it takes to be vulnerable and feel the pain I’ve run away from for so long, knowing that pain leads to growth. My new nutrition clients Zack and Beth just lost 7.5 and 10 lbs respectively and while eating carbs 😱...and it’s a lot more food than you think! They both have more energy and feel satisfied because they are learning what works for them individually. If we learn to “listen” to our body, it will tell us what it needs. Intuitively, we all know when we are doing something to support our health and when we aren’t. It’s not about self-judgement though, it’s about discernment💥

But what does “SAFE” actually mean? I didn’t know until I I found it @bdanelsonfashiongroup ❤️
What this means is that when when we are most vulnerable, we can share our fears with our partner knowing that they won’t turn it against us but rather feel honored that we trust them with our “perceived weaknesses.”

Have you ever shared something with a friend, family member, partner, and they immediately form a judgement towards you and then bring it up as a tactic to “warn you against yourself?” 🤔
These people are not SAFE my friends! 🤷🏼‍♀️ It doesn’t mean that they are bad or good. It simply means you cannot and should not share anything with them in this area of your life again.

Unconditional love says “I hear you and I’m glad you trust me with this. I’m honored and I pray that your intuition, spirit, God guides you and gives you discernment.”
It is not our place to judge others, it’s our place to support the people we love. Make sure you are a SAFE place for those around you. We are hard enough on ourself and when we need advice, we will ask.

Some days are harder to stay positive...I’m sure we can all agree? I find myself at times thinking about the devastation of losing a loved one that people are going through and it makes me feel somewhat self absorbed posting anything about exercise tips and nutrition on social media.

.
Yet, we as small business owners, still have to market ourselves because life doesn’t stop and it has no mercy...it has just temporarily stopped, like completely stopped, for those who are suffering right now.
.
.
.
So, can we just take a moment away from “ourself” to acknowledge that there is real pain and suffering going on in a lot of lives right now and yet still somehow know that we have to stay hopeful and grateful for the day, the people and circumstances around us we should be expressing appreciation towards, and love towards anyone going through hardship right now?
.
.
.
My mantra for today: as I stop for a moment and express and feel sorrow for those suffering right now, I send love and peace to them knowing that I don’t have to know all the answers, I only have to extend unconditional love in a prayer or service. I don’t have to carry the weight of it all and I choose to stay positive and hopeful knowing I have a purpose and part of that is lifting the spirits of those around me. So it is ❤️
