Lemhi Education Project

We support local, post-secondary, career-focused education, online learners, and community education in the Lemhi Valley.

Lemhi Education Project is a sub-committee of the Lemhi County Economic Development Association. We partner with regional institutions to connect local students to college level classes and technical workforce training that they can do right here in Salmon. Our Priorities: -Promoting and supporting locally available degree and certificate programs that focus on employable skills. -Providing learning services to online learners, such as test proctoring, placement testing, help getting started on applications and financial aid, and helping to connect students to more advanced student services at their college of choice. -Promoting, organizing, and encouraging community education, such as life-long learning courses, skills classes, professional development courses, etc. -Partnering with local businesses, social service agencies, and local school districts to better serve the needs of the people in the area.

Mission: Create Opportunity Through Education. The Lemhi Education Project strives to improve the lives of the citizens of Lemhi County by providing face to face, professional expertise, and by connecting them with critical resources with the goal of maximizing their investments in education.

And then there's this...Congrats to Scott!

The Lemhi Education Project congratulates Scott Carrell for passing his GED exams earning him his High School Equivalency Certificate! His hard work paid off, and he had this to say: “Achieving my GED means a lot to me. It’s awesome to be able to make the people who believed in me proud and to prove to myself I’m capable of more than I expected. My plan is definitely to continue my education, and my advice to anyone thinking about the getting their GED is there is no better time than the present! You will end up surprising yourself, I promise. I am very thankful to Sergeant Bielby for believing in me. This would not have been possible without her giving me the opportunity. I also want to thank Lieutenant Reichert for taking me to the testing facility and using his time to allow me to take my tests. Also, Ms. Dupree for walking me through everything and answering all my questions. And of course, Dana Cotton, for setting me up to test and being very helpful. Thank all of you so much. You have helped me so much and it means a lot to me that you helped me get through this.”
