The California Maidenhair Fern by BotaniCal • A podcast on Anchor

New episode on the California maidenhair fern (and a few other native maidenhairs) out now. Dinosaurs, aliens, and the blob somehow all make an appearance!

While making this episode, I couldn’t believe that the maidenhair fern had made its way to the houseplant stock of Trader Joe’s. Maybe the takeover I talk about in the episode is real. 🧐 Also, a quick update: The show took a long hiatus due to me getting hit by a car, but the show is back and I’ll keep releasing an episode every two weeks as much as possible (maybe once every week if I can figure it out).

Anyway, happy new year everyone! And thank you for listening. It means a lot! 🌱 Tune it to see what the California maidenhair fern has to do with an unplaceable deadly pathogen, Ginkgo trees, and a sci-fi imagination.

Have you ever heard of the flower clock? Without complicated gears or springs, it was not exact, but it was certainly beautiful. I say let’s bring it back. If you have room in your apartment or house, or maybe even your van, I urge you to plant Chrysanthemums, which often flower in November, so that you will have a general reminder for the very first episode of BotaniCal, a podcast about California native plants, airing Nov. 5th, 2019. Stay tuned for more info on where to listen and check out the trailer for the show's first episode below.
